Henry Street Settlement Presents Three Summer Saturdays Family Events on the

Saturday, July 31, August 14 & 28

Henry Street Settlement is taking it to the street in a big way this summer. On three Saturdays, we’re celebrating our community’s resilience and renewed ability to gather together after a tough year. The first two events are pegged to children and their families. The final event, August 28 Community Day, is our annual celebration of LES people, sounds, flavors, and fun! Hundreds are expected to attend each event:

Children’s Fun Day Saturday, July 31, noon – 4 p.m. Luther Gulick Park (Delancey between Willett and Columbia Streets) Magic Show, 1:30 p.m. Face painting, balloon twister, arts & crafts, giant games, free ice cream and snacks, Henry Street resource tables

Children’s Fun Day August 14, noon – 4 p.m. Playground, 55 Montgomery Street Magic Show, 1:30 p.m. Face painting, balloon twister, arts & crafts, giant games, free ice cream and snacks, Henry Street resource tables

Community Day Family Event August 28, 2021, noon – 4 p.m. Sol Lain Park, 290 East Broadway Live entertainment, fun activities for children, raffles, free refreshments, Henry Street resource tables

“These events highlight the enduring importance of community, celebrate our Lower East Side neighborhood, and raise awareness of more than 50 health care, arts, and social service programs our organization offers,” says David Garza, president and CEO.

Henry Street Settlement, founded in 1893 by Progressive reformer Lillian Wald, provides social service, arts, and health care programs to more than 50,000 individuals at 18 sites on the Lower East Side.
