This committee stands adjourned until I will now call for nominations for the position of committee the call of the Chair. Chair. Mr. Phillips. [The committee adjourned at 11:17.] Mr. Phillips: — I would nominate David Buckingham. Mr. Park: — Mr. Phillips has nominated Mr. Buckingham. Are there any other nominations? Seeing none, I would now invite the member to move the motion. Mr. Phillips: — I would move: That David Buckingham be elected to preside as Chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy. Mr. Park: — Mr. Phillips has moved: That Mr. Buckingham be elected to preside as Chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy. All in favour? Some Hon. Members: — Agreed. Mr. Park: — I declare the motion carried. Mr. Buckingham, if you can come take the Chair, please. The Chair: — All right. Thank you everyone. The first order of business is the election of the Deputy Chair. Pursuant to rule 123(2), the Deputy Chair must be an opposition member unless specified in the rules. Given that Mr. Wotherspoon is the only member of the opposition on the committee, I will ask a member to move: That Trent Wotherspoon be elected to preside as Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy. Mr. McCall, I recognize you. Mr. McCall: — Thank you very much, Mr. Chair, and congratulations on the new post. Best of luck with it. And I would move: That Trent Wotherspoon be elected to preside as Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy. The Chair: — Mr. McCall has moved. Is that agreed? Some Hon.
