North Lanarkshire Council Main Street, Glenboig (Temporary Closure) Order 2016 On 25 July 2016 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on rail bridge repair works) on Main Street, Glenboig from the extended line of the western kerb of Glenboig New Road, north westwards for a distance of 48 metres or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location. Alternative routes for vehicles 3.2 metres (10’9”) or less in height: Vehicles on the north west side of the closure wishing to travel to the south east side of the closure should proceed north westwards on B804 Main Street, B804 Glenboig Road and B804 Johnston Road, southwards on A752 Lochend Road, A752 Coatbridge Road, A752 Gartcosh Road, A752 Cuilhill Road and A752 Gartcosh Road, westwards on A89 Coatbridge Road, A89 Glasgow Road, north westwards on A89 Bank Street and south eastwards on A89 South Circular Road and northwards on B804 Dunbeth Road, B803 Sunnyside Road, B804 Coltswood Road, B804 Gartliston Road and B804 Coatbridge Road to the south east side of the closure. Vehicles 3.2 metres (10’9”) or less in height on the south east side of the closure wishing to travel to the north west side of the closure should proceed vice versa. Alternative routes for vehicles greater than 3.2 metres (10’9”) in height: Vehicles on the south east side of the closure wishing to travel to the north west side of the closure should proceed north eastwards on Glenboig New Road, north westwards on Mollinsburn Road, eastwards, north westwards then westwards on Cumbernauld Road and Gartferry Road, south westwards on A80 Link Road and A80 Cumbernauld Road, south eastwards on Avenue End Road, north eastwards on B806 Gartloch Road, northwards on A752 Coatbridge Road and A752 Lochend Road and eastwards on B804 Johnston Road, B804 Glenboig Road and B804 Main Street to the north west side of the closure. Vehicles on the north west side of the closure wishing to travel to the south east side of the closure should proceed vice versa. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. The Order, which will only be effective when signage is in place, will be operational (1) from 2100 hours on Saturdays until 0800 hours on Sundays from Saturday, 13 August 2016 and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Sunday, 18 September 2016 and (2) from 2100 hours every day until 0800 hours the next day from 2100 hours on Sunday, 18 September 2016 and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Sunday, 25 September 2016. This Order may be cited as “The North Lanarkshire Council (Main Street, Glenboig) (Temporary Closure) Order 2016” and shall be effective only when signage is in place, shall be effective during the periods (1) from 2100 hours on Saturdays until 0800 hours on Sundays from Saturday, the thirteenth day of August, Two thousand and sixteen and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Sunday, the eighteenth day of September, Two thousand and sixteen and (2) from 2100 hours every day until 0800 hours the next day from 2100 hours on Sunday, the eighteenth day of September, Two thousand and sixteen and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Sunday, the twenty-fifth day of September, Two thousand and sixteen. 2. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on rail bridge repair works) on Main Street, Glenboig from the extended line of the western kerb of Glenboig New Road, north westwards for a distance of 48 metres or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
