Allen Crabbe, the Pac-12 player of the year, announced on Wednesday that he has elected to skip his senior season at Cal and enter the NBA draft.

So what about the Pac-12 defensive player of the year?

Andre Roberson has not made up his mind yet whether to return to Colorado or turn pro.

"Right now he's still undecided. We're really checking in on a lot of factors," John Roberson, Andre's father, told the Camera on Wednesday. "We have to weigh the benefits and see if (the NBA) is a good fit or if he should go back to school."

Roberson said he would consult with his dad and meet with CU head coach before making a decision. Boyle and athletic director Mike Bohn met with Roberson's parents on Wednesday at the family home in San Antonio.

Boyle has applied for an evaluation of Roberson's draft stock by the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee, which consists of general managers, assistant general managers and player personnel executives who have extensively scouted college games.

The results of the evaluation should be provided to Roberson by no later than April 15, one day before the NCAA deadline for early-entry candidates to withdraw from the NBA draft.

"It may have a pretty good weight on it," John Roberson said when asked about the impact the undergraduate advisory committee evaluation might have on the family's decision. "We're trying to see the information and decide. It really boils down to what the teams need."

Roberson -- who has led CU in rebounds, steals and blocks the last three seasons -- should be able to help an NBA team defensively. His ability to clean the glass (second nationally at 11.2 rpg) and defend multiple positions is expected to translate to the next level.

However, most scouts and mock drafts project the 6-7 junior as a second-round pick or undrafted free agent. Roberson's offensive game could use some more polishing.

Clearly, Roberson's decision is more of a gamble than the one made by his good friend Alec Burks two years. The undergraduate advisory committee projected the 6-6 sophomore shooting guard as a possible lottery or mid-first round pick after an All-Big 12, first team season in 2010-11.

Burks was selected 12th overall by the , which led to three-year rookie contract worth $6.3 million.

Only first-round picks are given guaranteed contracts, although the new collective bargaining agreement does allow agents to try and negotiate guaranteed contracts for second-round picks.

"We just want to make the best decision for Andre and what makes him happy, whether that's returning to school or trying to find a fit in the NBA," John Roberson said. www.buffzone.com/basketball/ci_22943992/mens-basketball-cu-buffs-andre-roberson-still-weighing# 1/2 4/5/13 Men's basketball: CU Buffs' Andre Roberson still weighing his options - Buffzone ESPN draft guru Chad Ford currently ranks Roberson as the 54th best prospect this season. NBADraft.net does not include Roberson in its 2013 mock draft and has Spencer Dinwiddie as a lottery pick (10th overall) and Roberson as a second-round pick (35th overall) in 2014.

Roberson was CU's third-leading scorer this season behind Dinwiddie (15.3 ppg) and (12.4 ppg), averaging 10.9 points while shooting 48 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from behind the arc.

If Roberson did leave CU early, Stephane Pelle (1,054 rebounds, 1999-2003) would hold on to the program's career rebounding record. Roberson, who missed the final two games of the regular season with a viral illness, has pulled down 1,045 rebounds in three seasons.
