Your steadfast support has enabled Ren Ci to meet the growing needs of Singapore’s ageing population through the years and become one of the country’s largest community partners. One of the key highlights in 2019 was Dr Chua Thian Poh 蔡天宝博士 the of¿cial opening of our second nursing Chairman 主席 home and day care facility on 11 May in Teck Ghee Constituency. Every celebration in 2019 was also an occasion to thank the many stakeholders who have partnered and supported our growth through the years. Our fundraising events were well-supported by donors who believed in our work and shared a common vision. A 25th anniversary appreciation dinner for staff and volunteers was held to recognise their dedication and commitment in serving the elderly and needy over the past decades. Because of the many helping hands we received, Ren Ci is able to become one of the few good hands in the ILTC sector. We continue our service expansion by setting up the Ren Ci Learning Academy (RCLA) in May 2019. RCLA seeks to help meet the increasing demand for better care in the ILTC sector by upskilling the existing workforce as well as cross- 7 training care staff so that they can perform highest honour for nurses in recognition expanded scope of value-added services of signi¿cant contributions to the nursing for patients.     MEDIA RELEASE OUR APPRECIATION FOR FRONT LINE STAFF IN THE FIGHT AGAINST NOVEL CORONAVIRUS As a voluntary welfare organisation in the intermediate and long-term care sector, Ren Ci understands the risk that front line healthcare workers have to face daily during this outbreak and deeply appreciates the dedication that goes into caring for our nation’s patients who are stricken with the virus. Ren Ci’s nursing home residents, patients and staff were working to create thumb-print art for our own community hospital staff and decided to extend the initiative to provide moral support for our public hospitals front line staff as well. Each thumbprint represents a “thumbs up” from the Ren Ci family for the good work as well as admiration for the courage demonstrated by the healthcare workers in the fight against 2019-nCoV. Ren Ci’s Board of Directors (unpaid volunteers), on learning about the art initiative, decided to jointly contribute towards the purchase of vitamin C supplements for the front line staff too, as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts to safeguard the health of Singapore population. 500 bottles of vitamin C supplements will be by given out to each of the public hospital with emergency department including Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, KK Women's and Children Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, Changi General Hospital, National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital as well as the team in National Centre for Infectious Diseases. “We hope Ren Ci’s small gesture of appreciation can encourage the brave healthcare workers to continue in the fight against 2019-nCoV as well as encourage other members of public to appreciate our healthcare workers.” – Lim Chai Boon, Vice Chairman, Ren Ci’s Board of Directors.
