no opening BEATRIX IN BIRNAM & DUNKELD

n celebRatiOn OF 150 YeaRS since the death of BEAtrix PottEr , ian exhibition of her time spent in birnam & dunkeld in the late 1800s, based on the journal she wrote between the ages of 15-30 years old. the journal, written in code and which remained undeciphered until 1958, served as a documentary of her life and travels in this area.

courtesy of Perth museum and dunkeld archive, the exhibition is illustrated by photographs of the period, with some taken by beatrix herself, and only recently discovered in the Perth museum. these are the only surviving photographs in existence attributable to beatrix Potter and are exclusively of her stay in this area – they have never before been on public display.

Please note, this exhibition will be in Birnam Arts’ second gallery, within a specially adapted, purpose built exhibition space on the mezzanine level.
