Yorman Rodriguez & Tyler Duffey Honored As
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 29, 2015 YORMAN RODRIGUEZ & TYLER DUFFEY HONORED AS INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK The International League announced today that Louisville outfielder Yorman Rodriguez and Rochester pitcher Tyler Duffey have been named the League’s Batter and Pitcher of the Week for the period from June 22‐28. Duffeyʹs award is the League‐best fourth weekly honor for the Red Wings this season, as he follows fellow pitchers Pat Dean (April 13‐19) and Tommy Milone (May 11‐17 & May 18‐24). Rodriguez becomes the first member of the Bats to be so honored this season, and the first Batter of the Week from Louisville since Cody Puckett in 2012 (June 18‐24). YORMAN RODRIGUEZ, Louisville Bats IL BATTER OF THE WEEK Bats outfielder Yorman Rodriguez hit .444 over the past seven days and led the International League with 12 hits and 12 RBI. Rodriguez produced three different three‐hit games this week, including a five‐RBI performance in Louisvilleʹs 15‐2 win Thursday at Scranton/Wilkes‐Barre and a four‐RBI effort in Fridayʹs 11‐5 win at Lehigh Valley. This season Rodriguez leads the Bats club in several offensive categories, including hits, doubles, homers, RBI, and runs scored. 22‐year‐old Yorman Rodriguez is in his first season at the Triple‐A level. His professional career began in 2009 after signing with the Reds as a non‐drafted free agent. Last season he was an All‐Star in the Double‐A Southern League before making his Major League debut in September for Cincinnati. Rodriguez is a native of Ocumare de la Costa, Venezuela. -

The final spot in the rotation remains up for grabs, there's a competition for the final bench spot and likely two openings in the bullpen. With that in mind, here's this week's Inbox: Logan West @Logan_Western Who in your mind has a beat shot to be that 4th starter, that is, if the twins do a 4 man rotation early on. Twins manager Paul Molitor said on Wednesday that he still plans on opening with a four-man rotation, adding that there is no current favorite in that race for the final spot. -
