The Federation of Philippine Industries (FPI) cordially welcomes SSI SCHAFER SYSTEMS PHILIPPINES, INC. as the newest Associate Member of the Federation. SSI SCHAFER SYSTEMS PHILIPPINES, INC. is represented by its President Brian G. Miles and Country Manager Henry C. Batallones, with business address at 2403-A East Tower PSE, Exchange Road, Ortigas, Pasig City. The company is engaged in the business of wholesale trading, fabrication and manufacturing of industrial storage equipment and waste technology. MISS EARTH 2006 is one of the judges in sustainable development contest Ms. Cathy Untalan, winner of Miss Earth-Philippines 2006 and the international Miss Earth Water 2006, is one of the judges in the selection and recognition of the best sustainable development initiatives in FPI. She joins Environment Secretary Horacio Ramos, former Health Undersecretary Jaime Galvez Tan and former Environment Secretary Elisea Gozun as the judges in this selection and recognition event. Ms. Untalan graduated cum laude in Psychology and received her diploma in Environment and Natural Resource Management from the University of the Philippines. At present, the judges are helping to finalize the selection criteria. The Photo from Wikipedia selection of the best sustainable development initiatives will be conducted in May, to be followed by the awarding of the winners in June 2010. Public Hearing on Wage Issue A public hearing on the wage issue will be held on April 29, 2010, 1:00 p.m., at the Seminar Rooms A & B, Philippine Trade Training Center, 2 nd Floor, PTTC Building, Senator Gil Puyat cor. Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. This public hearing aims to solicit inputs to the on-going review of the minimum wage levels in the National Capital Region. CUSTOMS MATTERS/ISSUANCES CMO 11-2010 : This Order is about holding the implementation of a certain provision in CMO No. 2- 2010 pertaining to the rules and regulations strengthening the function of the Export Coordination Division under the Office of the Assessment Operations Coordinating Group. CMO 12-2010 : This Order provides for the revised guidelines and procedures implementing the Bureau of Customs-Philippine Economic Zone Authority Joint Memorandum Order No. 03-2002 of 27 July 2002 regarding Cargo Transfer System for the Ports of Mactan and Cebu. CMO 13-2010 : This Order provides for the nationwide implementation of E2M Customs System - Phase 4 on the informal entry of commercial goods in all customs sea ports. CMO 14-2010 : This Order notifies all concerned about the cancellation/revocation of Customs Special Order No. 5-2010 dated February 01, 2010. CMO 15-2010 : This Order pertains to Executive Order No. 691, which temporarily modifies the rates of import duty on crude petroleum oils and refined petroleum products under Section 04 of the TCCP of 1978 (P.D. No. 1464), as amended. Customs Special Order 5-2010 : This Order is about the clearance of ATRIG and AIVECR and the processing/approval/issuance/utilization of Tax Credit Certificates with Authority to Issue VAT/Excise Credit/Refund, which shall be subjected to clearance from the Office of the Commissioner. Copies of the above issuances are available at the FPI Secretariat. ANNOUNCEMENTS 1. PORTAL Meeting A meeting of the Ports Transparency Alliance (PORTAL)-Commodity Sub-Group (CSG) Steel is set on Thursday, April 29, 2010, 10:00 AM , Collectors’ Room, Customs Capacity Center, POM Bldg., Bureau of Customs, Port Area, Manila. 2. Turkey-World Trade Bridge Program The Office of the Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Inc. (TCCP), together with the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON), are inviting local businessmen to take part in the “Turkey-World Trade Bridge Program” to be held at Istanbul Expo Center Hall on June 13-18, 2010. This activity offers an opportunity for local businessmen to broaden their partnerships and networking with Turkish businessmen. The expected participants are 3,000 Turkish companies and 2,000 companies 3 from 150 countries around the world. Participants will cover their own airfare and accommodation costs in Istanbul. PROGRAM 1 (OPTIONAL, exclusive for Philippine Participants Only) June 7 – 13, 2010 June 7, 2010 - Arrival in Istanbul June 8, 2010 - Istanbul Tour June 9 - 12, 2010 - Trip to the Historical Places of Turkey’s Anatolian Cities & Visits to local factories June 13, 2010 - Fly back to Istanbul NOTES: • All domestic travel expenses during the visits to these places will be shouldered by the participants. Cost of EXPENSES for the domestic travels PER PARTICIPANT: Php 21,800.00. This amount will be collected by Turkish Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Inc. (TCCP) on or before April 30, 2010 so that the Chamber can arrange early the expenses that will be incurred during those travels. • Food and lodging accommodations from June 7-12, 2010 will be shouldered by TCCP and TUSKON. II. PROGRAM 2 (Turkey-World Trade Bridge Program 2010) June 13 – 18, 2010 June 13, 2010 - Arrival in Istanbul June 14, 2010 - Istanbul Tour June 15, 2010 - Istanbul Tour and Official Inaugural Ceremony of Turkey- 4 World Trade Bridge Program 2010 June 16, 2010 - Turkey-World Trade Bridge Program 2010 – First Day June 17, 2010 - Turkey-World Trade Bridge Program 2010 – Second Day June 18, 2010 - Departure from Istanbul NOTES: • Participants will shoulder their roundtrip airfare from Manila to Istanbul. • Hotel accommodations from June 13 – 18, 2010 will be shouldered by participants as well. Expenses that will be incurred by the participants such as food while they are inside the hotel will be shouldered by the participants. • Estimated Cost of Hotel Accommodations from June 13 – 18, 2010 (5 nights – June 13, 14, 15, 16, 17). Average Price of Hotel Accommodations PER NIGHT: € 90. • Meals during the Trade Bridge Program will be shouldered by TCCP and TUSKON.
