TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS, COMPTON ABBAS, FONTMELL MAGNA, HARTGROVE, MELBURY ABBAS & ASHMORE DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Compton Abbas, Fontmell Magna, Hartgrove, Melbury Abbas and Ashmore as listed below: Compton Abbas (30th July 2020 until 14th August 2020) [i] French Mill Lane from the junction with Pitts Lane to the junction with A350 Cann Hill; [ii] Gascoignes Lane from both its junctions with French Mill Lane; [iii] Crockers Farm Lane in its entirety; [iv] Pitts Lane from the junction with French Mill Lane to the junction with D31107. [v] Hawkcombe Lane from the junction with A350 Main Road to the junction with C138; [vi] Unnamed Road from the junction with B3091 to the junction with Penn Hill, Bedchester; [vii] Unnamed Road from the junction with Crockers Farm Lane to the junction with Hawkcombe Lane. Fontmell Magna (4th August 2020 until 21st August 2020) [i] Collyers Rise from the junction with Mill Street; [ii] West Street from the junction with Church Street to Common Lane; [iii] Common Lane from West Street to the junction with Penn Hill; [iii] Common Lane from West Street to Junction with Penn Hill; [iv] Parsonage Street from the junction with A350 Lurmer Street; [v] Elbury View from West View; [vi] West View from the junction with West Street to Elbury View; [vii] Church Street from junction with West Street to the junction with A350 Lurmer Street; [viii] Crown Hill from the junction with Church Street to the junction with A350 Lurmer Street; [ix] The Knapp from the junction with Crown Hill to the junction with A350 Lurmer Street. Hartgrove (4th August 2020 until 21st August 2020) [i] Woodbridge Lane from outside Bedchester House, Woodbridge Lane to Woodbridge Meadow, Woodbridge Lane; [ii] Hannah's Hill from junction with B3091 to the junction with Parsons Lane. Melbury Abbas (6th August 2020 until 21st August 2020) [i] Foots Hill from the junction with A350 Bozley Hill to the junction with B3081 Higher Blandford Road; [ii] New Lane from the junction with B3081 Higher Blandford Road to the junction with A30 Salisbury Road; [iii] School Lane from the junction with Melbury Street to Quarry Lane; [iv] Quarry Lane from the junction West Lane to School Lane; [v] West Lane from the junction with A350 Cann Hill to the junction with Dinah's Hollow; [vi] White Pitt Lane from the junction with Melbury Street to the junction with B3081. Ashmore (7th August 2020 until 28th August 2020) [i] Unnamed Road from the junction with North Road to a point approximately 830 metres to the west; [ii] Green Lane from the junction with Noade Street; [iii] North Street from the junction with Woodley Lane to a point approximately 860 metres to the north; [iv] High Street from the junction with Fontmell Hill to Noade Street; [v] Noade Street fromm High Street to North Street; [vi] Fontmell Hill from the junction with Spread Eagle Hill to the junction with Half Penny Lane; [vii] Woodley Lane from the junction with North Streeet to a point approximately 520 metres t the west. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works. Clearways indicated by signs on site, will be imposed on each road to prevent waiting or parking on the highway or verge in these locations. Any Vehicles waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations Act 1986. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30th July 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28th August 2020. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road in advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closue will effect the road. Even though the dates above coincide, only one road will be close at any one time. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
