Individual Small AGILITY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HALL OF FAME By Livia Pivetta Piccinni – Fci Agility Judge HALL OF FAME – Agility Champions and Judges of the ( European and ) FCI AWC Albo d’Oro dei Risultati e dei Giudici dei Campionati Europei (1992-95) e Mondiali di Agility (1996-2019) Ricordiamo che: L’Agility europea è iniziata nel 1989, dal 1990 al 1992 il grande evento fu il master Royal Canin (1990 Porte de Versailles, Paris; 1991, Bercy, France; 1992 Monaco) ed a partire dal 1991 si tenne il primo campionato Europe in Finlandia; le parti grigie della tabella riguardano i Campionati Europei. Nel 1996 si disputò il primo mondiale in Svizzera. Le categorie small (<35) medi (35-43) e large (<43) non esistevano ancora; la suddivisione era in MINI ( <40) e STANDARD ( >40) Le squadre erano formate da 4 binomi ; per ottenere i risultati si scartava il peggiore per ogni squadra. Dal 2002 si passò all’attuale divisione in classi SMALL MEDIUM e LARGE e si decise di ridurre la composizione delle squadre a 3 binomi ; dal 2012 le squadre sono nuovamente composte da 4 binomi. Quindi i risultati riportati nella classe small fino al 2001 sono in realtà i risultati della vecchia classe “MINI”, per questo i risultati della classe MEDIUM partono dal 2002 We remind that: European Agility started in 1989, from 1990 till 1992 the big event was the Royal Canin master (1990 Porte de Versailles, Paris; 1991, Bercy, France; 1992 Monaco ) and since 1991 the first European championship was held in Finland.     THE SHETLAND SHEEPDOG (SHELTIE) UNIQUE ORIGIN: Shelties, as they are affectionately called, hail from the rugged Shetland Islands, which lie between Scotland and Norway. These islands are also home to the Shetland Ponies and Shetland Sheep, all diminutive animals. Shetland Sheepdogs were bred by crossing the Border Collie, the rough Collie, and various other breeds. By 1700, the Sheltie was completely developed. They were developed to herd the sheep flocks of the Shetland Islands, and also to protect them from birds of prey, such as eagles. You can still catch Shelties chasing birds. Today, the Sheltie is one of the most popular dogs in America. PERSONALITY: Shetland Sheepdogs are hardy, loyal, obedient, gentle, loving, and extremely trainable. They are incredibly intelligent, ranking 6th out of 132 different dog breeds according to Dr. Stanley Coren, an animal intelligence expert, which means that they understand new commands with less than 5 repetitions and obey first commands 95% of the time. This dog needs a job with plenty of exercise or else they might invent their own entertainment. They are also very in tune to their owner’s thoughts and moods. Shelties are devoted family pets and are especially fond of children. They love attention and love to learn. They thrive in an environment where they’re given playtime, training, and loving attention. They will love you in return tenfold. APPEARANCE: Shelties usually weigh between 12 to 18 pounds and stand approximately 12 to 15 inches tall. Their build is trim with a light frame. They are incredibly beautiful dogs and are known for their beautiful coat.

    Elbow Dysplasia Scheme Breed Specific Statistics 2019 The below table shows the Elbow Dysplasia results for all breeds that have been tested since 1999 broken down by breed and grade. Elbow grading should be considered along with other criteria as part of a responsible breeding programme. It is strongly recommended that breeders choose breeding stock (both dogs and bitches) from animals with an overall elbow grade of 0. Dogs with elbow grades of 2 or 3 have marked osteoarthritis which is highly likely to be due to elbow dysplasia. Dogs with elbow grades of 1 show mild or early osteoarthritis which is also likely to be due to elbow dysplasia. Elbow Dysplasia status of the parents, siblings and progeny for Kennel Club registered dogs should also be considered, and these together with a three generation Health Test Pedigree may be downloaded via the Health Test Results Finder, available on the Kennel Club's online health tool Mate Select. In addition, estimated breeding values (EBVs) are available for breeds in which a significant number of breeds have been graded, via the same link.
