Overview

Bastide De Pierre is an idyllic retreat within walking distance to Mougins, wonderful to return to after a day at the beach in Cannes or visiting some of the other beautiful places in the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur.

It’s a characterful stone country house with sea views, near the charming village of Mougins where you can pick up your breakfast baguettes, browse in an art gallery or dine at one of its many gastronomic restaurants. It’s only a short drive from Cannes and other French Riviera resorts of this fabulous stretch of coastline.

You’ll love dining on the spacious front terrace while admiring the the shimmering Bay of Cannes in the distance. The large and beautifully landscaped Mediterranean gardens are terraced with many private spaces to disperse to - a superb pool area, private tennis court, boules pitch and plenty of lawns and peaceful shady spots for a glass of wine away from the crowd!

The living room leads into the dining area and retains the bastide’s original character with its ceiling beams, arched doors and stone fireplace - both rooms open to the terrace with its fine sea views. All of the six air-conditioned bedrooms are elegantly furnished and most are en suite - the three on the ground floor share a terrace whilst one of the upstairs rooms has the luxury of a private balcony and another has glorious sea-views.

The coastline of the French Riviera is only a short drive away and Cannes is sure to provide a touch of Côte d'Azur glamour with its excellent restaurants, lively food markets and sandy beaches with water sports. Take a boat trip away from the bustle of the city to the tranquil Lérins Islands, just off the coast of Cannes, before driving eastwards to the glitz of Juan Les Pins and the gorgeous old-town of Antibes.

It’ll be hard to leave the coast but there is so much stunning scenery inland - book a round of golf at one of the prestigious courses near Mougins, take a hike in the Valmasque forest, create your own brand of perfume in Grasse or explore the French markets in Valbonne and Vence.

Bastide de Pierre enjoys a stunning position within a gated domaine with glorious views towards the French Riviera, only 7km from Cannes and the glitz of the Côte d'Azur.

It’s within walking distance of the gorgeous medieval hilltop village of Mougins, situated between Cannes and Grasse and surrounded by the Valmasque forest - its hilltop setting gives superb views southwards to the Baie de Cannes and the Lérins Islands while the views stretch northwards towards Grasse and the Pre-Alpes.

The village is bedecked with flowers and is a delight for both food and art lovers with its fine restaurants and art galleries. Many celebrities and artists have been attracted by the beauty and ambience of Mougins - indeed Picasso stayed here for the last years of his life. Aside from food and culture the renowned Par 71 Cannes Mougins Golf Club can be found near here - there are plenty of other local golf courses across the French Riviera to try out too.

After exploring your local village, head towards Cannes where the iconic Boulevard de la Croisette curves for a mile around the coast bordered by sandy beaches, grand hotels, lively bars and designer boutiques. There are plenty of water sports on offer here as well as the chance to explore the Vieux Port and the cobbled climb upwards to charming Le Suquet above the city.

You may spot a few dolphins on the boat trip away from the bustle of Cannes to the peaceful Lérins Islands. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat are places of beauty and tranquillity, great for a swim in clear waters.

Overlooking Cannes, La Croix-des-Gardes is a great hiking spot with plenty of trails throughout where you are sure to pass some seasonal wildflowers. Head eastwards along the coast road towards the beautiful, forested Cap d’Antibes peninsular which lies between lively Juan-Les-Pins and the wonderful beaches, old town and super yacht marina of Antibes, about 15km away.

Take an unforgettable trip to Grasse (12km), the perfume capital of the world where you can visit most of the famous perfume houses and wander around the pretty streets with their artisan shops and small boutiques. Then fall in love with artistic Vence (30km), a gorgeous village which sits high up in the mountains and treat yourself to a wood fired pizza in the heart of the old town.

Valbonne (7km) is another peaceful medieval market town where, amidst cascading bougainvillea, little restaurants tempt visitors to their pretty street tables. Walkers will love the 9km track alongside the Brague river from Valbonne to Biot (13km), a pretty hilltop village best known for its glassblowing

- Security deposit: €10,000 charged by the owner to client’s credit card as a pre-authorisation one month before arrival and refunded one month after departure at the latest, subject to full inspection.

- Arrival time: 4.00 p.m.

- Departure time: 10.00 a.m.

- Heating costs included?: Yes.

- End of stay cleaning included?: Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
