August 8, 2021—Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time page 4 A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WHAT, HOW AND WHY Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus: Song of Heaven The words of the Sanctus are rooted in the scriptures. They recall the song of the seraphim in the prophet Isaiah’s vision of God in majesty: “Seraphim were stationed above; each of them had six wings: with two they veiled their faces, with two they veiled their feet, and “Do not grieve the Holy Spirt.” with two they hovered aloft. ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LĔėĉ of hosts!’ they Your faithful response to your cried one to the other. ‘All the earth is ϐilled with his glory!’ ” (Isaiah vocation gives joy to the heart of 6:2-3).
