FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Dan Bell Wednesday, April 23, 2014 [email protected] Eddie Motl [email protected] 21st NFL ON FOX SCHEDULE UNVEILED San Francisco at Dallas Kicks Off AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK Season Premiere on Sunday, Sept. 7 London is Calling – Twice: Atlanta Hosts Detroit in Earliest NFL Kickoff Ever; Dallas Takes on Jacksonville in Week 10 New York & Los Angeles – On the heels of broadcastinng Super Bowl XLVIII, the most-watched television show in U.S. history, and the most-watched NFL on FOXX campaign since FOX began broadcasting NFL games in 1994, FOX Sports is set to presentt its 21st season of National Football League coverage. It’s a season of firsts once the action gets underway as FOX Sports becomes the only NFL broadcaster to cover two games from London in the same season, the first of which features the earliest kickoff in NFL history. London contest numbeer-one pits the Detroit Lions against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Oct. 26 live at 9:30 AM ET. Two weeks later on Sunday Nov. 9, Dallas takes on Jacksonville live in a traditional 1:00 PM ET window. Both games are played at London’s storied Wembley Stadium, and the 9:30 AM ET kickoff on Oct. 26 provides the NFL its first-ever regularly scheduled fouru -game Sunday. The NFL on FOX is scheduled to broadcast 97 regular-season games, including the traditional Thanksgiving Day contest featuring a classic NFC East showdown as the defending division champion Philadelphia Eagles travel to Texas to face off against the rival Dallas Cowboys. The Super Bowl XLVIII Champion Seattle Seahawks make 10 appearances on FOX this season, while the NFC runner-up San Francisco 49ers and the NFC North Champion Greenn Bay Packers appear nine times each. The Eagles appear eight times, the NFC Wild Card winner New Orleans Saints are featured 10 times, and the NFC South Champion Carolina Panthers make the most appearances of any 2013 playoff squad with 11. In addition, three of the NFC’s traditional powers, the New York Giants (10), Cowboys (9) and Chicago Bears (9) are prominently featured in the 2014 NFL on FOX schedule. -more- 2014 NFL ON FOX SCHEDULE – PAGE 2 Week 1 features strong AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK matchups anchored by Colin Kaepernick and the powerhouse San Francisco 49ers battling Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys from Arlington, Texas on Sunday, Sept. 7. Other standout AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK contests include Philadelphia at San Francisco in Week 4, Dallas at Seattle in Week 6, the New York Giants at Dallas Week 7, the Giants at Seattle Week 10, Seattle at Philadelphia Week 14 and San Francisco at Seattle Week 15. The Seahawks and Cowboys each appear on AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK as many as five times. The Eagles, 49ers and Giants appear on AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK as many as four times. Each week, coverage begins with FOX NFL SUNDAY (12:00-1:00 PM ET/9:00-10:00 AM PT), America’s most-watched pregame show for 20 straight seasons. Terry Bradshaw and Curt Menefee return as co-hosts alongside analysts Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan. Bradshaw, Menefee, Long, Johnson and Strahan are joined by NFL insider Jay Glazer and NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira. Since its premiere in September 1994, FOX NFL SUNDAY has won 20 Emmy Awards for its production and personalities, including four for Outstanding Studio Show. Once playoff teams are determined, the NFL on FOX presents exclusive live postseason coverage, including an NFC Wild Card Game on Sunday, Jan. 4, the NFC Divisional Playoffs, Saturday, Jan. 10 and Sunday, Jan. 11 and culminating with the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 19. The 2014 NFL on FOX season kicks off with a pair of exciting preseason matchups beginning Sunday, August 17 (8:00 PM ET), as Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs head to Carolina for a battle with Cam Newton and the Panthers. On Sunday, August 24 (4:00 PM ET), Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers head north to San Francisco to take on Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers from brand-new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., marking the venue’s first national television appearance. The 2013 NFL on FOX regular season marked FOX Sports’ most-watched since the network began broadcasting NFL games in 1994, with an average of audience of 21.2 million viewers. AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK continued to rank as the most-watched show in television, and last season marked the program’s highest-rated and most-watched on record, averaging a sensational 15.9/29 with 27.2 million viewers.
