Dart Programming About the Tutorial Dart is an open-source general-purpose programming language. It is originally developed by Google and later approved as a standard by ECMA. The quick answer to the question of what Dart is that it is an open-source structured programming language for creating complex browser based web applications. You can run applications created in Dart by either using a browser that directly supports Dart code, or by converting your Dart code to JavaScript (which happens seamlessly). It is class based, optionally typed, and single threaded (but supports multiple threads through a mechanism called isolates) and has a familiar syntax. In addition to running in browsers, you can also run Dart code on the server, hosted in the Dart virtual machine. The language itself is very similar to Java, C#, and JavaScript. One of the primary goals of the Dart developers is that the language seems familiar. 1 Best practices for developing for Chromebook tablets The goal of this guide is to share some best practices for developing Android and web apps for Chromebook tablets. With the help of educators and developers around the globe, we’ve learned some tips and tricks along the way and want to share those with you and your team. Chromebook tablets come in many different shapes and sizes and run all sorts of software—from traditional websites to extensions, progressive web apps, and Android apps. In many ways, Chromebook tablets operate the same as a traditional Chromebook. The operating system is largely the same. They’re managed the same and run the same apps. Educators tell us that the smaller and lighter form of the tablet and no built-in mouse or keyboard changes how they and students use the device. For example: ● Many schools use tablets in early elementary, special education, and media classes where entering text, typing, and testing are less prevalent. ● Tablets are more conducive to handwriting notes, reading, filming, photography, and touchscreen apps than traditional laptops. ● Some schools prefer to use Android apps with tablets (because they’re designed for touchscreens) instead of using websites (usually designed for a mouse). It is a cross-platform Unix init scheme with service supervision, a replacement for sysvinit, and other init schemes and supervision that are used with the traditional init. runit is compatible with djb's daemontools. In Unix-based computer operating systems, init (short for initialization) is the first process started during booting of the computer system. Init is a daemon process that continues running until the system is shut down. Slackware comes with its own legacy init (/sbin/init) from the sysvinit package, that used to be included in almost all other major Linux distributions. The init daemon (or its replacement) is characterised by Process ID 1 (PID 1).
