ŠKODA Motorsport Press Release, Page 1 of 5 ŠKODA Motorsport returns to Sweden in the World Rally Championship after 11-year absence › ŠKODA works drivers Pontus Tidemand (S) and Esapekka Lappi (FIN) start at the only real winter rally in the World Championship › Thawing in Värmland causes rally route to be shortened › ŠKODA debut for co-driver Jonas Andersson (S) at his home rally › Michal Hrabánek: “We have set ourselves ambitious targets for the new season” Mladá Boleslav, 9 February 2016 – ŠKODA Motorsport is celebrating a return to the Rally Sweden after an 11-year absence. The successful team, led by works drivers Pontus Tidemand (S) and Esapekka Lappi (FIN), will launch its assault on the title in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC 2) on ice and snow from 12 to 14 February. Jonas Andersson (S) also makes his debut for ŠKODA at this iconic event in the far north. The experienced co-driver will be navigating for Asia-Pacific champion Pontus Tidemand for the first time, at their home rally. “The whole team at ŠKODA Motorsport is really looking forward to our first rally of 2016,” said ŠKODA Motorsport Director Michal Hrabánek. “We have set ourselves ambitious targets for the new motorsport season and are hoping for a successful start,” he added. “We must gain race experience on ice and snow with our new ŠKODA Fabia R5. Don’t forget that this is the first time since 2005 that we are competing in Sweden.” Back then, Jani Paasonen (FIN) and DTM champion Mattias Ekström (S) drove the ŠKODA Fabia WRC to ninth and tenth place respectively in the WRC category. -

ASIA PACIFIC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 2014 The FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship is spread across a ASIA PACIFIC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP diverse range of countries, climates, cultures and a huge pop- 2014 Calendar ulation base of over 2.5 billion people. 12 - 13 April New Zealand APRC Pacific Cup Junior Cup In 2014 six events make-up the championship starting in New 26 - 27 April India Asia Cup* Zealand with the fast and smooth roads at Rally of Whangarei. 17- 18 May New Caledonia APRC Pacific Cup A month later is the tropical island paradise and rough roads of New Caledonia followed by Australia’s Sunshine Coast and the 21 - 22 June Australia APRC Pacific Cup Junior Cup International Rally of Queensland. 16 - 17 August Malaysia APRC Asia Cup Junior Cup 27 - 28 September Japan APRC Asia Cup Junior Cup The APRC then heads to Asia to the very hot and humid Malaysian Rally based in Johor Bahru. Japan is next and the 08 - 09 November China APRC Asia Cup fast forestry and public roads of Rally Hokkaido, followed by 13 - 14 December Thailand Asia Cup* the championship finale in the bamboo forests and mountains * Subject to FIA observation of Zhejiang province, China. In 2014 India and Thailand will host ‘Asia Cup only’ events, with a view to both events having full status in the future. Registered competitors can score points for the drivers, teams and manufacturers championships in the six rounds (not in- cluding Thailand and India) and must enter a minimum of five events to qualify. Alternatively if an APRC registered Team nominates to run a vehicle in all events then a driver can enter one-off events with that team and score APRC drivers points. -

2016 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 2016 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Welcome to Rally Sweden, round two of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship and another new challenge for Hyundai Motorsport. Rally Sweden will be the second event for the New Generation i20 WRC and a second different surface. We have tested on snow back in December and again last week with the new car and it’s gone well with no major issues. The drivers have been happy too; they’ve found good set-ups for the differential and the dampers so I think they are all quite confident. Thierry finished second in Sweden last year in the 2015 car but the drivers say that the New Generation i20 WRC feels even better. The car is a bit longer so it should be more stable on fast sections of road like you get in Sweden. We believe we have gained a bit of traction too, which is important on a low-grip surface like snow. In Sweden the car runs on gravel specification but there are specific details you can prepare for this event. You don’t want to get too much snow in the car because it adds extra weight so you have to make sure it is well sealed, inside the wheel arches and underneath the car. Also, because of the cold temperatures we don’t have to cool down the car as much as usual so we’ll use a different radiator. -
