She has worked for over 25 years as an executive, grantmaker, evaluator, and researcher to diverse philanthropies. Among her positions have been vice president of The Philadelphia Foundation and the founding national managing director and vice president for philanthropy at US Bank’s Private Client Group. Her most recent publications, Creating Africa in America and "Kenyan Diaspora Philanthropy in the US" document Pan-African philanthropy and voluntary sector practices and traditions. Dr. Copeland-Carson has also taught social sciences, nonprofit management and philanthropy at several universities, including University of Minnesota and St. Mary’s University among others. A community activist and volunteer, she has been on the board of more than 20 nonprofit organizations. She is founder and co-chair of the Pan-African Women’s Philanthropy Network (www.http://pawpnet.ning.com) and is on the board of the African Women’s Development Fund. Dr. Copeland-Carson holds two masters’ degrees,one in urban planning and the other in cultural anthropology, with a doctorate in anthropology all from the University of Pennsylvania. She also did Post Graduate work in Obafemi Awolowo University, where she developed field experience in Nigeria. Adebayo Olukoshi Professor Adebayo Olukoshi is currently Director of the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) based in New York. He is a Professor of International Economic Relations. Until March 2009, he was Executive Secretary of the Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), Dakar, Senegal. He has also previously served as Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Lagos; Senior Research Fellow/Research Programme Coordinator of the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) in Uppsala, and Senior Programme Staff at the South Centre in Geneva. His research interests centre on the politics of economic relations, an area on which he has published extensively. Adebayo Olukoshi graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Leeds University, England. Professor Yemi Osibajo Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, (SAN) became the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State in 1999. Prior to that, he was a partner at the Law Firm of Osinbajo, Kukoyi & Adopaye, and Professor of Law and Head of Department of Public Law (1997 – 1999) at the University of Lagos. Prof. Osinbajo has served as the Special Advisor to the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (1988 – 1991) He has provided expertise and consulted with a wide range of development organisations such as the United Nations, United Nations Centre on Transnational Corporations/ United Nations Development Programme, United Nations African Institute for Crime Prevention and ECOWAS. He and Mr. Olusoji Apampa founded INTEGRITY, the umbrella organisation of The Convention on Business Integrity. Dr. Kingsley Moghalu Dr. Moghalu was the Founder and CEO of Sogato Strategies S.A., a risk management and corporate strategy consultancy firm with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and was the Executive Director of the Swiss-Africa Business Roundtable. He previously worked for the United Nations for 17 years in legal, management, strategic planning and development finance roles in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia. Dr. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu is currently the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria for Financial Sector Surveillance. He is responsible for the regulation and prudential supervision of banks and nonbank financial institutions, as well as development finance policy and programs of the Central Bank. He is also the Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank) and the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC). Dr. Moghalu obtained a Ph.D. at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, an M.A. from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, USA, and the LL.B. degree in law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also obtained an International Certificate in Risk Management fromthe Institute of Risk Management, UK. He is the author of two books and numerous articles on international law, development, political economy, and public policy. Thelma Ekiyor Thelma Ekiyor is the the first Executive Director of the TY Danjuma Foundation, an independent private perpetual foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life of Nigerians.Ekiyor had also served as Executive Director of the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) based in Accra, Ghana. Prior to that, she was the Senior Manager for Conflict Intervention and Peacebuilding Support at the Centre for Conflict Resolution (University of Cape Town), South Africa. Ms. Ekiyor also worked as the Director of Programs for The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) in West Africa. Ms. Ekiyor serves as a resource person on conflict prevention and peacebuilding to the United Nations (UNIFEM, UNDESA, and UNITAR), the Africa Union, and Regional Economic Communities (specifically ECOWAS, IGAD and ECCAS). She has developed indigenous training tools on peacebuilding in Africa and has written and published extensively on peace and security on the continent.
