MINUTES OF THE HOUSE AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson at 3:30pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016, 346-S of the Capitol.

Discussion & action on: HR6045 — Urging the federal government to require the use of sound science in evaluating crop protection chemistries and nutrients. Chair Schwartz opened the discussion and possible action on HR6045.

Natalie Scott, Revisor, explained the resolution noting that the resolution urges the federal government to require the use of sound science in evaluating crop protection chemistries and nutrients.

Representative Sloan moved to recommend HR6045 favorable for passage. The motion was seconded by Representative Lusker.

Chair Schwartz offered an amendment to HR6045 which strikes language on page 1, lines 14 through 19.

Representative Sloan moved to adopt the amendment to HR6045 to strike language on page 1, lines 14 through 19. Motion seconded by Representative Moxley. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Representative Sloan moved to recommend HR6045 as amended favorable for passage. Motion seconded by Representative Clark. Motion carried on a voice vote.
