Mission Hills Guinness World Records 12 SIGNATURE GOLF COURSES WORLD CUP COURSE Course Designer: Jack Nicklaus Regarded as the greatest player in the 20th century with 18m major championship titles. Having hosted many prominent events including the World Cup of Golf, Dynasty Cup and the Mission Hills Tiger Woods China Challenge, this course has played a significant roles in the development of golf in China and is consistently ranked among the top 12 courses in the country. VIJAY COURSE Course Designer: Vijay Singh Winner of 3 major championships, 1 master and 2 PGA Championships. Set in the valley floor, this course incorporates a stunning and distinctive use of long sandy waste bunkers and sharp-edged faces similar to the famous T.P.C. course at Sawgrass, site of the PGA Tour’s Players Championship. FALDO COURSE Course Designer: Nick Faldo Winner of 3 Masters and 3 British Opens. As the first stadium course in China, this layout incorporates a challenging test within the large amphitheatre-like surrounding of forested hillsides and features one of the world’s most spectacular island greens on the signature 16th hole. 12 SIGNATURE GOLF COURSES ELS COURSE Course Designer: Ernie Els 2-time US Open Champion, and winner of the 2002 British Open. With diverse terrains featuring dramatic elevation, this course offers bold tests within a tranquil setting of landscaping and water features, providing a golfing experience living up to the designer’s “Big Easy” nickname. Part of the course meanders through a pristine river basin, while the rest of the course is situated in the foothills. OZAKI COURSE Course Designer: Jumbo Ozaki The most celebrated Japanese golfer. Ozaki has created one of the most scenic courses in the world at Mission Hills where many of the holes are played through the dramatic canyons of the thick forest. The course’s sweeping sculptured bunkering and water features evoke a Zen-like, calming atmosphere. ANNIKA COURSE Course Designer: Annika Sorenstam World’s No.1 female golfer and the first to shoot 59 in the LPGA. With its unique incorporation of six par 3s, six par 4s, and six par 5s, this beautiful layout is the shortest among the 12 courses but demands the most accurate shot-making. Playing Annika’s course requires extreme accuracy on the golfer’s part. This course layout provides stunning vistas. 12 SIGNATURE GOLF COURSES OLAZABAL COURSE Course Designer: Jose Maria Olazabal The 2-time Masters Champion is considered one of the best sand players in the history of golf. Incorporating 154 bunkers, this course challenges players with both length and shot-making, all the while meandering through a peaceful setting of natural slopes, setting up a stunning finish of treacherous and beautiful holes along two large lakes. The Olazabal Course is the longest among the 12 Mission Hills courses at 7,400 yards. NORMAN COURSE Course Designer: Greg Norman The Great White Shark was the world’s top player for a decade. Perhaps the most difficult course in all of Asia, this layout features dramatic and abundant deep bunkers surrounded by dense forest vegetation that contribute to the course’s difficulty index of over 150, one of the highest in Asia. Playing here demands both length and accuracy from start to finish. DUVAL COURSE Course Designer: David Duval The first to Surpass Tiger Woods as the World’s No.1 golfer, and winner of the 2001 British Open. Traditional in its presentation and design, this course incorporates large expanses of turf and trees like the courses of years past and is a mild departure from the other courses at Mission Hills, providing a unique challenge to any golfer. 12 SIGNATURE GOLF COURSES LEADBETTER COURSE Course Designer: David leadbetter Known as the Godfather of Golf. The Leadbetter course was designed with the intention of challenging the golfer to use every club in their golf bag. Combining beautifully sculptured bunkers, streams, waterfalls, and large areas of turf, this is a friendlier course, which is a welcome addition to the complex and provides an excellent playing experience. PETE DYE COURSE Course Designer: Pete Dye One of the most influential American golf course architects of all-time. Pete Dye is an outstanding designer and master who has designed the most PGA played coursed in the world. Pete Dye has created a masterpiece at the age of 80. In his 50 years of golf course designing, he presents a course that is both aggressive and both with a bunker, both big and small wild green, and severe contours. You will have great pleasure in experiencing this course with his signature railway ties. ZHANG LIANWEI COURSE Course Designer: Zhang Lianwei China’s No.1 golfer. Zhang Lianwei is China’s No.1 player and the first to play in the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club in 2004. He holds almost every record in China’s golf history. As the first 18-hole executive style course in China, the Zhang Lianwei Course incorporates only par-3 holes which include specially designed greens. It only takes you two hours to finish a complete round.
