From the impressive mountainous peaks of the Ruahine Ranges, to the bustling and beautiful streets of , our district extends as far north as the stunning rural landscape of to the popular coastal shores of Beach in the south. Running between us are two significant rivers – the Manawatū and the Rangitikei.

The lifestyle of Manawatū is an easy one. Our district is dotted with award- winning restaurants, picturesque scenery, renowned native bushwalks and cycle ways. Friendly Feilding is a charming rural town servicing our thriving rural sector. With a population of 16,355 our communities have many families from around the globe who bring with them their cultures that add to our vibrant atmosphere. Feilding has won ‘Most Beautiful Town in New Zealand’ award on 16 occasions, which reflects highly on the attractive environment credited to our outstanding regional facilities, short commutes and pride in our people.

We are known for our agriculture with some of the best farmland and soils in New Zealand. Manawatū is home to the Feilding sale yards, Ohakea Air Force, Vinegar Hill Reserve, the Coach House Museum and Manfeild Park – hosting hundreds of significant events each year. We have a great range of employment opportunities in the agribusiness sector that takes our produce from paddock to plate. It is what makes us unique. It’s neighbouring districts, Palmerston North City and Rangitikei have populations of 86,300 and 14,712 respectively. It is free to join and is available to anyone who resides in the Manawatū District Council’s rateable area.
