The outstanding recognition of this project to date is exciting not only as a nod to the quality focus and design intelligence behind this work but importantly recognises professional project delivery, reliable client service and proves that a house based on modular components and construction can result in a refined, modern and well built project.” http://www.dezeen.com/2009/11/09/country-victoria-modular-house-by-carr-design-g... 16/11/2009 Dezeen » Blog Archive » Country Victoria Modular House by Carr Design Group Page 7 of 13 Neale Whitaker Editor-in-chief Belle noted, “The Belle Georg Jensen Award recognises and rewards an Australian Design Practice for the most inspirational and successfully realised residential interior. A stringent list of criteria ensured that entries were judged for their attention to brief, aesthetic value and commercial viability. This simple and clever structure placed against a stark landscape and the near austerity of the interior leads to an amazingly utilitarian, gallery-like feel.” This represents Carr Design Group’s second major award win for the year having won one of the highest accolades for residential design, the 2009 Interior Design Award for the beautifully crafted Courtyard House. Carr’s Modular House for Intermode was also Shortlisted in the 2009 Interior Design Awards and the 2009 Interior Design Excellence Awards. – Posted by Ruth Hynes http://www.dezeen.com/2009/11/09/country-victoria-modular-house-by-carr-design-g... 16/11/2009 Dezeen » Blog Archive » Country Victoria Modular House by Carr Design Group Page 8 of 13 Email this • Subscribe to this feed • Digg This! • Stumble It! Oliver Says: November 9th, 2009 at 4:43 am wow … absolute fabulous – this is really “clean” design and much good usable space – love it! 2. Lizzie Says: November 9th, 2009 at 10:00 am So beautifully Australian. A sensual vastness expressed through complex simplicity. Love it too 3. J* Says: November 9th, 2009 at 10:06 am looks superbe. Redfern Says: November 9th, 2009 at 11:00 am Interesting way of procuring an architect-designed house – the build quality seems very high for a modular design. 6. Bruce Says: November 9th, 2009 at 1:55 pm Nice, but an awful lot of exterior photos for a project winning an interior design award; photos of the kitchen and more interior details and a plan would have been appreciated. 7. S Says: November 9th, 2009 at 3:00 pm simply irresistible.. simple nice clean cut. the floating plan and columns reminds me of Mies van der Rohe. thumbs up! 8. Ron Brenner Says: November 10th, 2009 at 1:24 am Very clean and simple – but where is the art? It could use a little bit of warmth inside. 9. Aaron Young Says: November 10th, 2009 at 9:26 pm Rectilinear repetition. This house looked good in the 90’s. Australia is better represented by the Klein Bottle House. 10. hugo Says: November 11th, 2009 at 11:10 am because the klein bottle house lends itself very well to modular design doesn’t it? well thought out comment. 11. Just as it should be in architetural photos. The architects have done their job marvellously and left the interior for the clients to add texture and life, or not. I would hope that this was a fair representation of Australian architecture. While I do really like the Klien Bottle House it seems needlessly complicated to be a true marker of Australian architectural ideals.
