Recipients 2012 Scholarship Recipients Austin Bennett As far as describing my first year at TAMU here goes: I wake up, I go to class, I do homework, I eat, I sleep some, I do it again. Taking engineering is bad enough. Austin Bennett Taking 19 credit hours both semesters is awful. But my classes are worthwhile and I DAMC Scholarship truly feel like I’m in, not necessarily an extended family, but at the very least the most recipient tight knit of communities. Thank you. Allison Burenheide Howdy! My name is Allison Burenheide and I’m an Animal Science major from Grand Junction, CO but more importantly I’m a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2016! This first semester has been full of challenges and amazing experiences! It was hard to be so far away from home and my family but it has gotten easier! I have become really involved in the Saddle and Sirloin club which is one of the biggest student organizations on campus! A lot of the students involved are Agriculture majors and Allison Burenheide we do a lot of agriculture based events and fundraisers. I have also become involved vDAMC Scholarship in Aggie Angels. This is an organization full of thirty girls who are like a student recipient booster club for the men and women’s basketball team. We attend all of the home games and cheer them on! We also get assigned buddies who we make posters and goodie bags for. We also raise money for charities. This year we contributed to Spalding, a foster care organization, and a charity that helps with Parkinsons disease. I was also involved in a Texas BBQ class which was so much fun! This semester has been amazing! I can’t wait to see what is in store for the next couple of years! Thanks and Gig’ Em! Sydney Ritter Since starting at A&M, I feel like I have really flourished. My first semester was great, but flew by! I earned a 4.0, went to every football game, and met a ton of Sidney Ritter new friends. There is always so much to do on campus- I have gotten involved with DAMC Scholarship Freedom Movement and am currently training to be a fitness instructor at the Rec for recipient next fall! My architecture classes have been challenging but enjoyable. I can’t imagine being anywhere else at this time in my life, and my only fear is that the next three years will go by too fast! Thanks and Gig ‘em! Jacob Seiter Thank you DAMC. PAGE 4 Howdy Denver Aggies! Letter Looking Back from the What an exciting year that the Denver A&M Club had in 2012!! I would like to thank the 2012 Officer Team for all of their hard work and dedication this past year. With their willingness we were able to reach out and extend our network of Aggies in the Denver Metro Area and offer President events for Aggies to gather together and connect with new and old friends. The Denver A&M Meghan Bierman ’02 Club was able to triple our membership to finish the year with over 200 active members due to the amazing efforts of our officer team. This increase in our membership ensures that we will be President able to continue awarding scholarships to local students heading to College Station in the fall Denver A&M Club and strengthen our presence in the Denver area. Our Watch Parties at the Fainting Goat were a huge success in our first year competing in the SEC. We averaged 115 Aggies at each game and filled the bar with over 230 Aggies for our Bowl game against OU.
