Where Futures End frequently debate the long-term consequences of our global actions on society. The universe they live in coexists with a parallel universe where these issues do not exist, and few can travel between the two worlds. In the first story, we meet Dylan, who is struggling with memories of a different place and time. And Where Futures End takes us to a time where real life and virtual reality are completely blurred. Finally, more than years into the future, we meet Quinn. Quinn puts the pieces together and discovers the secrets of the parallel world. Although at times it was difficult to suspend my sense of reality, Where Futures End certainly kept me wondering. Are we as a species doomed to destroy ourselves or is there hope for us yet? Title: Future's End 06 Nov Inan apparent meteor crashes in the forest near a lone camper. Flash forward to the 24th century, where Voyager is on its trek back to the Alpha Quadrant. An artificial temporal rift opens in front of them, and a Federation vessel from the 29th century emerges. The pilot, CAPT Braxton, says that Voyager somehow is Where Futures End for a temporal disruption in his time that destroys Earth's solar system. So he begins an attack on them, hoping to change the future. In defending themselves, Voyager disables Braxton's time Where Futures End, and he is pulled back into the time rift; so too is Voyager. Braxton's vessel is flung back to and is the meteor seen at the beginning. Voyager only goes back to Once in the 20th century, Voyager detects a warp signature in the Los Angeles area, so an away team - Janeway, Chakotay, Paris, and Tuvok - goes to investigate. Unknowingly, a SETI scientist - Rain - who has been scanning for a particular radiation signature finds it emanating from Voyager Written by Tony-B4. By far my favourite two episodes,the banter with Sarah Silverman is just top notch Where Futures End the whole story just flows so well, I don't know why all the extras in LA were such extremes and in I don't know what the aim was,the only negative was the enabling of the doctor to expand his part. She leaned forward. Her skin was still clear, firm, unlined with the exception of the tiny wrinkles next to the corner of her eyes that had started to make their appearance in the last year. He hair was shone, still maintaining its natural chestnut hue tinged with red. The ends of her hair curled just above her shoulders, as per Starfleet regulations; she was damned if she'd go back to the upsweep she'd worn at the beginning of her command career. Her experimentations with her hair had caused some amusement among her senior staff but in the privacy of her quarters, Janeway had known the truth: out in the Delta Quadrant, her hair, trivial as it seemed, was the one thing she could truly control. Everything else was, well, best left in the hands of fate. Janeway's lips curled up. Fate, oh the irony. She had done everything she could, including sacrificing much of herself in terms of personal and emotional commitments, to get Voyager home and now after all of that, she was leaving her fate in the hands of a Starfleet JAG. It felt good not to be carrying Miral with him for a change. Even though he loved her with all his heart, she was getting bigger and bigger every day. He sighed. The days of carrying his little girl about the ship with him were nearly over for good, he realized with a pang in his heart. Where had the time gone? He glanced at his PADD now and then, checking the supply list for tomorrow's away mission, and began to hum a song that both he and B'Elanna liked. This in itself was a rare thing indeed, since Tom didn't particularly care for Klingon music and B'Elanna couldn't stand most every song Tom knew. The Doctor had tried to interest both of them in his type of music, but neither of them could warm up to opera. Tom turned a corner quickly and nearly ran into a couple of the younger crewmen aboard ship. He apologized wholeheartedly for not looking where he was going, and they said it was all right. But then they looked at him a little strangely as they moved away and continued down the corridor. Tom immediately realized his blunder. While it was a part of his job as a senior staff member to help raise or sustain crew morale, it wasn't exactly a good thing to be singing happily in the corridors as though he didn't have a care in the world, while the rest of the crew was still upset about being so close to home, and then getting lost again instead.
