Shri G. Venkat Swamy (Minister of Labour) laid on the Table, under sub-section (7) of Section 6A of the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 a copy (in English and Hindi) of the Ministry of Labour Notification GSR No.

748 (E), dated the 16th November, 1995, publishing the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995.

Shri Bal Ram Singh Yadava (Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Planning and Programme Implementation) laid on the Table, a copy each (in English and Hindi) of the following papers :-

(i) Annual Report and Accounts of the Institute of Applied Manpower Research, New Delhi, for the year 1994-95, together with the Auditors' Report on the Accounts.

(ii) Review by Government on the working of the above Institute.

Shri P. Chidambaram [Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Commerce] laid on the Table -

4. REPORTS AND MINUTES OF THE STANDING COMMITTEE ON LABOUR AND WELFARE.

Shri Jibon Roy laid on the Table a copy each (in English and Hindi) of the Eighteenth and NineteenthReport of the Standing Committee on Labour and Welfare on (i) The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Bill, 1995 and (ii) The Apprentices (Amendment), Bill, 1995 and Minutes of the Sittings of the

Committee relating thereto.

5. CALLING ATTENTION TO MATTER OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE

Shri Gurudas Das Gupta called the attention of the Minister of Finance to the sleep to fall in the value of repee against dollar and its impact on the country's economy.

Shri Manmohan Singh (Minister of Finance) made a statement.

Thereafter, Member sought clarifications on the Statement. Shri Manmohan Singh replied to the clarifications.
