Sun Myung Moon November 17, 1974 Matching the couples Suppose I give a girl of small stature a big giant? I had the even experience of matching a German girl to an Englishman, though they couldn 't speak each other's language. They even had to most wonderful use an interpreter in their courtship. That was a thing to do. Just imagine: the baby of one American girl will have black, almond-shaped eyes, and the baby of one ofthe Japanese girls will have blue eyes. Isn't that wonderful? When an Oriental girl embraces her blue-eyed child, then it means she is embracing world. When an girl America, embracing the Western American Oriental it means she is embraces a baby with dark eyes, in her arms. And in this you cannot embracing the whole Orient way stand apart from the Western world or apart from the Eastern world. This will be the proof that you have become one with the opposite world. Sun Myung Moon November 17, 1974 674 1PU Rehearsing the ceremony February 7, 1975 Yourjob is to make your spouse happier than you, without his or her being conscious of it, and then you can express your happiness. You may think, "Since I'm married, I have to be well-dressed. I have to use earrings, rings, necklaces, and new clothes to decorate " myself. Before you do that, you must be able to have your spouse glitter and shine; that's the way you should help each other. In our ideology, when you are made into couples, you must become one. Then with the magnetic power of love operating in your family, you can attract other families and end the disunity in other families. You will win more and more families on our side. An ideal couple cannot be found when you enjoy material wealth, when you drive luxurious cars, eat nutritious food, wear glittering clothes and things like that. But when you live in poor conditions where you go through miseries and difficulties and still your family shines, then people will know you have an ideal family life. In the corrupted world, where families are disunited, your family must become the norm. You must concentrate your efforts on making your home a unified one, a beautiful stronghold of unity in love. Sun Myung Moon August 4, 1974 678 We have a new view of life here in our group. In the Christian blessed in holy marriage we are ready to sacrifice ourselves or our world when they are blessed in marriage, they think of their own family for the salvation of broader things, and that's why God will salvation or their own happiness, and struggle hard to win work with us. Sun Myung Moon everything for their happiness. But here in our group when we are August 25, 1974 679 What is our purpose? To become true men. We will create the true husband and wife, and become true parents to give birth to children who experience love among themselves amd form a loving brotherhood. And those children and parents together create one heavenly family. That family will expand into a true society. That true society will expand into a true nation. Sun Myung Moon September 11, 1974 Couples forever 680 681 3S8S5SS93S! 682 Motorcade through Seoul 683 Interwoven by international, Marriage in the Satanic world has been among one's own people, or at best, within a certain ideology, but there have been many, many divorce cases and things like that. But in our Family, we will make international marriages where the love ties will be so great, with couples loving people of the West and the East that they will embrace all humanity in their arms. In our society there will never be such a thing as divorce. Sun Myung Moon November 17, 1974 684 interracial marriages You must never complain about your spouse, saying, "Oh, she's an Oriental girl, she's shorter, she's not beautiful, she's not " smart, because God chose her. However ugly he or she may be, whatever defects he or she may have, in God's eyes he or she has a certain place. Sun Myung Moon February 23, 1975 We don't get married only because we like each other. We get married to do the will of God, because we like God's will so much that we want to establish it as a long-lasting tradition for the future people who follow us. Sun Myung Moon March 5, 1975 685 686 / know too well that God in finding His son would look for him not in the midst of happy people, but in the midst of the tortured and miserable people, where He could find one in miserable circumstances and looking up to heaven alone to be rescued. Then alone in that situation you can meet God face to face, one to one. Even in that situation you cannot be completely restored if you are not in the position to completely console God instead of being consoled by Him. If in that situation you call to God, shout to Him, me!" calling for rescue, calling "Father, God, help me! Save you are afailure. You must be able to say to God at that moment, "Iknowtoo well that you have trodden a more thorny way than I myselfhere, so I have tasted a bit of what you have gone through. In‐Depth Report Legal Dispute Over The Unification Church‐Owned Parking Lot In Yeouido, Seoul ‐ Hyun Jin Moon April 25, 2011 'Battle of the Princes' takes place in the Unification Church as a fight for 2 trillion won ensues Unification Church Foundation, "Operating company and the former chairman who violated property rights of the church members should be held responsible" Hyun Jin Moon's side (3rd son), "This lawsuit is clearly them trying to 'kill Hyun Jin Moon'" Regardless of who wins the lawsuit, damages will total in the hundreds of millions of dollars By Se Jin Kwon of Monthly Chosun [email protected] Across from the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, at the address of 22 Yeouido‐dong Yeongdungpo‐ku where the construction of Parc 1 is taking place, there’s a desolate feeling with the halting of the construction. A signifant contrast can be seen when compared with the SIFC building across the street, which is showing smooth progress with several stories up already. The City of Seoul reached an agreement in 2005 with an overseas financial institution to begin the construction of the SIFC on the city owned lot and designated Yeouido as a 'Global Financial Center' in February of this year. SIFC and Parc 1 function as essential landmarks of this international financial center. The 56 story SIFC and 72 story Parc 1 were destined to become the new skyscrapers of Seoul. The reason the construction stopped as of November, 2010 is the result of a dispute between the land owner and the superficiary. The original owner of the land is the “Support Foundation for the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity” (hereinafter referred to as the Unification Church Foundation), is the owner of this piece of land and signed a contract with Y22 Finance Investment in May of 2005, which gave Y22 a 99 year term for control over the superficies.

Rev. Falwell, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and The Love of Money In this teaching we will be looking at the ‘fruit' of some of the most prominent ‘Christian' figures in America. This list will include: The late Rev. Jerry Falwell, Timothy La Haye 'Left Behind', Gary Bauer, Bill Bright, Paul Crouch, Dr. James Dobson, Rev. Billy Graham, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Beverly La Haye, Ralph Reed, Pat Robertson, Rev. James Robison, Phyllis Schlafly, George Bush Sr. and Jr., Dr. Robert Schuller I and II Jerry Falwell. Jesus said by their fruits “ye shall know them”, which is in reference to the fruit of a true Christian as opposed to a pseudo Christian tare. We will be looking at the undeniable documented financial links of the people listed above cult leader Rev. Sun Myung Moon of the Unification Church of Korea. Unbelievably Rev. Moon was actually crowned Messiah and Savior of Earth on March 23, 2004 at the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington D.C, where scores of Christian leaders as well as several U.S. Senators and Representatives met for this very blasphemous occasion. Southern Baptist leaders were on hand, as were Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) President Paul Crouch, Reverend Jerry Falwell, Rev. Robert Schuller, Kenneth Copeland, Pat Boone and many others. Moon claims Jesus failed on his mission to earth but Moon has not. This is one of the largest smoking guns and flagrant moves ever made and condoned by main stream Christian figures and politicians. This information is based on highly referenced, factual evidence. Unification Church of the United States From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Unification Church of the United States is a new religious movement in the United States of America. It began in the 1950s and 1960s when missionaries from Japan and South Korea were sent to the United States by the international Unification Church's founder and leader Sun Myung Moon. It expanded in the 1970s and then became involved in controversy due to its theology, its political activism, and the life style of its members. Among them were Young Oon Kim, Sang Ik-Choi, Bo Hi Pak, David S. C. Kim, and Yun Soo Lim. Missionary work took place in Washington D.C., New York, Oregon, and California.[1] The church first came to public notice in the United States after sociology student John Lofland studied Young Oon Kim's group and published his findings as a doctoral thesis entitled: The World Savers: A Field Study of Cult Processes , which was published in 1966 in book form by Prentice-Hall as Doomsday Cult: A Study of Conversion, Proselytization, and Maintenance of Faith.

True Parents’ wishes and directions have repeatedly been neglected and the will of the worldwide Unification Movement has been ignored. 4. There has been continued disobedience of True Parents’ instructions, including the carrying out of GPF events in Nepal, Korea, Indonesia, Paraguay and soon in Kenya. 5. True Parents have directed that the current situation must be explained and understood from a principled and providential perspective. ■ Hyung Jin Nim’s Guidance to Worldwide Church Leadership 1. According to Father, Chung Hwan Kwak, in the position of fallen Lucifer, has betrayed True Parents and is controlling Hyun Jin Nim, who is in the position of fallen Adam. 2. True Parents are in pain, having invested so much in Rev. Kwak. They are undergoing God’s situation at the time of the Fall, where Lucifer betrayed God at the last moment. 3. Rev. Kwak has been influencing Hyun Jin Nim to leave and betray True Parents and go toward Rev. Kwak’s family. Rev. Kwak’s family members are involved in this. 4. As a result, the Moons are forbidden entry into the Schengen Convention states, including all major continental western European countries. 1 The International Coalition for Religious Freedom considers this ban against the Moons to be a serious violation of their rights and the rights of thousands of European Unificationists who are deprived of the ability to meet their religious leaders in person and have their leaders conduct religious ceremonies in their nations. The purpose of this paper is to give the background and history of this issue, to demonstrate how this abuse of the Schengen Convention violates international standards of human rights, and to explore ways and means of remedying the situa tion. The Schengen Convention The Schengen Convention emerged from an agreement by several European countries in the town of Schengen, Luxembourg, on June 14, 1985 providing for the “ultimate abolition of all border controls of persons within this area.” The agreement was adopted as a formal convention in June 1990 and “fully implemented” on July 1, 1995.

  • The Unificationist Funerary Tradition
religions Article The Unificationist Funerary Tradition Lukas Pokorny Department of Religious Studies, University of Vienna, 1010 Vienna, Austria; [email protected] Received: 22 April 2020; Accepted: 17 May 2020; Published: 20 May 2020 Abstract: This paper explores the distinctive funerary tradition of the Unification Movement, a globally active South Korean new religious movement founded in 1954. Its funerary tradition centres on the so-called Seonghwa (formerly Seunghwa) Ceremony, which was introduced in January 1984. The paper traces the doctrinal context and the origin narrative before delineating the ceremony itself in its Korean expression, including its preparatory and follow-up stages, as well as its short-lived adaptation for non-members. Notably, with more and more first-generation adherents passing away—most visibly in respect to the leadership culminating in the Seonghwa Ceremony of the founder himself in 2012—the funerary tradition has become an increasingly conspicuous property of the Unificationist lifeworld. This paper adds to a largely uncharted area in the study of East Asian new religious movements, namely the examination of their distinctive deathscapes, as spelled out in theory and practice. Keywords: Unification Church; funeral; death; ritual; new religious movement; Korea; East Asia 1. Introduction “‘Death’ is a sacred word. It is not a major expression for sorrow and pain. [ ::: ] The moment one enters the spiritual world is a time that one enters a world of joy and victory with the earthly life having blossomed, the fruits borne, and the grain ladled. It is a moment we [i.e., those staying behind] should rejoice. It should be a time when we celebrate wholeheartedly.
