[email protected] ABSTRACT In this paper, we will show some facts showing the serious problems in the implementation of Intercultural Bilingual Education in the province of Chaco. The data provided here show that this education modality does not fulfill the expectations promised by the provincial or national governments. As a result indigenous languages and cultures in the province keep fading away under the pressure of the Spanish language, different religious denominations and other non-indigenous influences. We propose here a technology-based education approach to revitalise indigenous languages as a main objective, as it is the most difficult and more powerful from an identity point of view, as we will argue in this paper. Cultural features evolve and change over time, but language is the link that keeps the past and the present together under the same identity.
