You could be arrested, imprisoned & killed, simply for your beliefs. Christians had to meet in Horseheath 1100 Family Eucharist GR secret – but what if a stranger came? How could you tell if they were Christian or not? Who could you trust? March 2– Sunday before Lent To recognise one another, Christians used secret signs. One of these was the sign of the fish Castle Camps 1000 Holy Eucharist GR that could easily be scratched on a wall or drawn in the dust of the road. If the other person wasn’t a Christian they’d just think someone had been doodling. Weekly on Wednesdays The fish was used as a sign because, in Greek, the first letters of the words “Jesus Christ, Holy Eucharist 0930 GR God’s Son, Saviour” spell the Greek word for fish - ichthus. All Saints’, Castle Camps Today, real Christians are still difficult to recognise.

Homefields, May Street, Great Chishill, Royston, Hertfordshire, SG8 8SN. 09 November 2020 Uttlesford District Council Planning Department Council Offices London Road Saffron Walden CB11 4ER Dear Sirs, Planning Application Reference: UTT/20/1798/FUL Proposal: Erection of 1 no. Agricultural Barn Location: Langley Park Farm, Langley Lower Green, Langley CB11 4SB I have been made aware of the proposal to erect a new barn at Langley Park Farm and whilst I have every respect for the necessity of farmers to manage their business, it has been suggested locally that this barn is primarily a storage hub and is grossly disproportionate in size to the land actually owned. There is no information on the application in respect of traffic movements, traffic management or designated routes for vehicles visiting or leaving the location. It is also my understanding that an additional large barn, with planning permission, is already under construction on land adjoining the proposed barn at Langley Park Farm, which will also have high volumes of HGV traffic, particularly during harvest time. The application makes no suggestion of constructing a new access at the junction with Park Lane to accommodate the turning area of large articulated vehicles, by experience, some with trailers. Clearly, the highway at this junction has restricted turning capacity and is not currently constructed in a way to support the aggressive friction between the vehicle tyres and the road. No vehicle tracking has been shown for vehicles entering or exiting the farm. Page 1 of 10 Should the vehicles visiting or leaving Langley Park Farm choose to turn north towards Little Chishill in Cambridgeshire they will need to navigate through very narrow lanes not designed to accommodate such sized vehicles.

We are not part of government or any political party. We are accountable to Parliament through a committee of MPs chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons. Our main role is to carry out electoral reviews of local authorities throughout England. Electoral review An electoral review examines and proposes new electoral arrangements for a local authority. A local authority’s electoral arrangements decide: How many councillors are needed How many wards or electoral divisions should there be, where are their boundaries and what should they be called How many councillors should represent each ward or division Why Cambridgeshire? We are conducting an electoral review of Cambridgeshire County Council as the Council currently has high levels of electoral inequality where some councillors represent many more or many fewer voters than others. This means that the value of each vote in county council elections varies depending on where you live in Cambridgeshire. Overall, 32% of divisions currently have a variance of greater than 10%. Our proposals for Cambridgeshire Cambridgeshire County Council currently has 69 councillors.

Case Studies from across Rural England of how rural communities have worked together during lockdown Rural Services Network – Rural Communities Pulling Together RURAL COMMUNITIES PULLING TOGETHER This booklet details the Case Studies that were provided to the Rural Services Network during the lockdown period of Covid-19 (2020). Organisations were encouraged to respond to three questions: • What initiatives has your local rural community set up in response to COVID-19 national lockdown? • What national initiative would help your organisation do things better in your rural area? • Any other comments? Not all respondents answered all the questions, detailed in this booklet are the answers provided by organisations. Some answers have been edited or amended for reasons of Data Protection and to comply with our constitution. Councillor Cecilia Motley, the Chair of the Rural Services Network said: ‘It is heartwarming to see how our rural communities have come together to support their most vulnerable residents in this difficult time. However, our communities raise a number of important issues which need attention and support from Government. Our rural communities should not be left behind.’ 2 Rural Services Network – Rural Communities Pulling Together Contents: East Midlands Page 4 East of England Page 15 North East Page 31 North West Page 34 South East Page 38 South West Page 53 West Midlands Page 71 Yorkshire & Humber Page 80 3 Rural Services Network – Rural Communities Pulling Together EAST MIDLANDS REGION Parish / Local Group: East Drayton Parish Council Region: East Midlands What initiatives has your local rural community set up in response to COVID-19 national lockdown?
