PRCUA SOCIETY #162 NEWS Gymnastics Recital Wyandotte, Michigan

Over 25 youngsters gathered on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the PRCUA Soc. #162 Hall in Wyandotte, MI, to display their gymnastic abilities. Coach MaryAnn Davis put together another great performance by our up and coming Olympic gymnasts. MaryAnn, who has been coaching the students for many years now and runs the Gymnastics program at Society #162 on Thursday evenings in Wyandotte. Boys and girls from ages 3 – 14 years displayed their vaulting, tumbling and balance beam exercises. After the performance Coach MaryAnn presented the students with perfect attendance, participation and course completion awards. Cookies and coffee were served after the performance. Anyone interested in joining the Gymnastics program starting in September, can contact Coach MaryAnn, Society #162 at (734) 281- 7036.

Tribute to Artists Dinner & Show is a Huge Success

On Friday, May 8, 2015 PRCUA Society #162 stepped out on the edge to try something a little different and, boy, did everyone have a great time! For the first time performing in Wyandotte were the fine talents of popular singers Patsy Cline, Toby Keith & Neil Diamond. Special Thanks go to Society #162 President Stan Pasko and Bernie Baca for their efforts on what proved to be a huge success. The evening started with over 185 guests arriving to enjoy a Polish style dinner of meatballs, pork chops and all the trimmings, prepared by one of Wyandotte’s finest caterers, Maryann Rogowski and her crew. Shortly after dinner the crowd enjoyed a show which included Patsy, Toby and Neil each singing a 45 minute set of many of their hit tunes known to all, young and old. The ticket price of $25 included beer, wine and soft drinks, cash bar was available for mixed drinks. Watch your calendar for next year’s performance; you never know who will show up next at Society #162 in Wyandotte.

Mother’s Day Breakfast Tribute

In what has been a tradition at PRCUA Society #162 for over 50 years now, the men of the Society gathered once again to provide a fabulous Mother’s Day Breakfast Buffet at Society #162. The work began early Saturday morning preparing for this special event that pays tribute to all mothers. The whole crew was also there bright and early on Sunday morning. The Breakfast Buffet included: fresh scrambled eggs, fried eggs cooked to order, hash browns, sausages, pancakes, fried bologna and onions, toast and muffins, coffee and the best fruit bar money can buy. The crew served over 390 breakfasts that morning between 8:30 a.m. and 12 noon! Of course, none of it would be possible without the superb talents of VP Mike Halberstadt and his crew. Special thanks go to those crew members who include: Society #162 President Stan Pasko, Ted Wienclaw, Larry Stec, Al Adamski, Chris Treglawn, Brain Zulewski, Bernie Baca, Eric Baca, Mike Purcell, Larry Maier, Keith Zelasko, Dennis Guzenda, Kelly Salatowski manning the door and 50/50 raffle, and of course, last but not least our dishwashing crew of Jim Bliss & Chris Litteral. OUR TRIP TO POLAND ROGALIN DANCE TROUPE’S By Jerry and Rita Nasiatka, St. Stan’s Society #718 in Detroit, MI RECITAL Detroit, MI - On Thursday, April 16, 2015 our much-anticipated trip to Poland began. We departed from Detroit Metro Airport flying to Frankfurt, Germany, Wyandotte, MI - The Rogalin Dance Troupe of PRCUA Society #162 then onto Warsaw, Capital of Poland. When we arrived in Warsaw we were celebrated their 46th Annual Dance Recital on Saturday, April 18th at overwhelmed with the beauty of the city and astonished at the buildings that Lincoln Park High School. Choreographer and Dance Instructor Janet Vilag spanned hundreds of years - a city reborn after World War II. The Town Square was something to behold with restaurants, shops, churches and places to enjoy liquid refreshments. We then traveled to the towns of Poznan and Torun. Poznan was a quaint town with much history. Torun remains one of the best preserved medieval towns in all of Europe and is the birthplace of the Polish astronomer Nicholas Copernicus. Our final destination was Gdansk. En route, we stopped in the town of Malbork, home to Marienburg Fortress, the largest castle in the world (700-year old structure). While in Gdansk, a strategic and historic city, we visited the Gdansk Shipyard, site of the creation of the anti-Communist Solidarity movement in 1980 that helped liberate Poland from Soviet rule. It was here that we enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the pier overlooking the Baltic Sea. The view was absolutely awesome! Rogalin Dancers Poland is an absolutely beautiful country. The history, the people, the scenery, the shopping, the food were just outstanding. WE FELT LIKE WE BELONGED THERE! Every city was different but, needless to say, very memorable. W niedzielę, 24.maja 2015 roku odbyła się druga tura wyborów prezydenckich w Polsce. Nowym prezydentem wybrany został Andrzej Duda. Według oficjalnych wyników Państwowej Komisji Wyborczej (PKW), frekwencja wyniosła 55,34%, Andrzej Duda otrzymał 51,55% głosów ważnych, urzędujący prezydent Bronisław Komorowski otrzymał 48,45% głosów.
