Pero ambos grupos emiten el mismo comentario: “no se compara con la obra original”. Esta disputa fue la iniciativa clave para emprender esta disertación, no con el fin de dar la razón a alguien, sino de entender por qué un público amaría u odiaría una adaptación. Por ende, se propuso plantear los puntos claves de este trabajo: conocer a fondo lo que implica hacer un proyecto nuevo en base a otro ya hecho, analizar un solo ejemplo de una adaptación y su homónima para luego contrastar la una con la otra, y así comprobar la diferencia que separa a ambas obras y saber por qué una adaptación tendría tanto éxito. The Walking Dead es el objeto de estudio ideal para este trabajo académico, puesto que es una serie de televisión que previamente nació como una historieta y ambas obras poseen gran aceptación del público. Naturalmente, se puede estudiar y contrastar absolutamente todo de una obra con otra; sin embargo, se eligió una sola estructura del relato: la narración. Existen narrativas específicas que corresponden a cada uno de los medios comunicacionales conocidos y que se desarrollan según el lenguaje y composición que dicta cada uno de estos. No obstante, más de un medio puede compartir características de una narrativa en común y la televisión y el cómic son ejemplo de ello. But Maggie’s mother wouldn’t think Maggie had any business inside the house unless they were cleaning it for Miss Fonda. So Maggie kept her visits to the tower room a secret. After Miss Fonda had to go to the Gentle Care Home, Maggie’s mother did say Maggie could come feed Miss Fonda’s calico cat, Miss Marble, who lived out in the garden shed. But the cat excuse wouldn’t help if Maggie got caught inside the house. She’d be in trouble. The thing was not to get caught. So Maggie stayed very still and listened for what she’d heard. Or thought she heard. No sounds now. Old houses could creak and groan for no reason. Maggie crept over to the window and felt better when the circular drive down below was empty. Maggie rubbed a spot clean on the glass with a corner of her sweater. No telling how long since these windows had been washed. The years of grime didn’t let in much of the October sunshine. Maggie shivered and pulled her sweater tighter around her.
