Public Authority: The Public Information Officer, Tahsildar, Taluk Office, Kulithalai, Karur District. ==== The petitioner asked for information where she had asked for the SK, DK files by which her land has been transferred to the name of somebody else claiming that they were the original land owners and she has neither partitioned nor sold any part of the land. Now she complains that she has not received the SK, DK file prior to the UDR Scheme whereupon a direction was issued in Case No.7354/Time bound/U2/09 to supply the information before 11.8.2009 and report. This was originally transferred to the Taluk office and the Collector had issued instruction to supply the same. The Public Information Officer claims that he is also stating that the records are not available and has been destroyed and produced the destruction report to show that it has been destroyed and also stating that before 1982, when the Board emphasised that these records were maintained permanently, they have been destroyed as three years records. The petitioner again complained to the Commission stating that the direction of the commission in Case No. 7354/time bound/U2/09 has not been complied with. 2. The District Collector, Karur is directed to (a) ensure that the records are traced out and information is supplied within three weeks and the fact reported to the Commission (b) If the records have been destroyed, file before the Commission the permission for destruction and the order regarding the period of retention which has been issued for such destruction as provided for (c) explain how the referencing in the chitta and 8A has not been made to the transfer orders when alterations are carried out in these documents (d) file the personal explanation of the Public Information Officer in person for not having supplied the information despite the Commission's direction within two weeks (e) make a senior responsible officer to see whether any illegal land transfer records have been created as alleged and file the report of the enquiry to the Commission within six weeks.
