This temple is run on your generosity and I want to thank from the bottom Members of my heart for your time and dedication in serving this Temple. Asha Ram 972-252-1500 For the first time in our templeís history we organized a fund raiser for Dr. N. K. Monga 214-368-8563 Vidya Vikas. It was a very well planned cultural evening with food, fun Kanti Wani 817-608-0244 and cultural program by the Vidya Vikas children. I would like to thank Rajiv Gaind 972-392-7860 all the participants: children, choreographers, parents, volunteers and Sandhya Patel 972-506-9141 donors. I would also like to recognize the dedicated group of 100 volunteer S.P. Krishnamurthy 817-267-5505 teachers and Vidya Vikas administrators for their selfless services. Our Tushar Basu 817-354-6068 Vidya Vikas with over 700 students, is run only by volunteers. I invite all Vinoda Kumar 817-589-2517 the parents of young children to take advantage of the Vidya Vikas Program and facilities to teach culture and heritage to our children. We just finished celebrating Shiv Sahasra Linga Mahotsav - a three day Executive Committee celebration - in our Temple. This Mahotsav was a great success and President devotees felt as if they were in Kailash. The celebration became more Anita Singhal 817-261-9174 special due to the divine presence of Karunamai Amma. Amma not only blessed devotees but participated in Shiv Abhiskem and Maha Rudram Vice President (I) Homam. Having Ammaís presence during this event was blessing to temple and devotees. We celebrated Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Lohri, Vice President (II) and Vasant Panchami in the month of January. By Lord Shivaís grace Omana Nair 972-444-0662 Mahashivaratri was on Monday and celebrations were on Sunday. On Saturday a special Mahamrtyunjaya Yagna was performed for the benefit Treasurer of our devotees. Our volunteer Dilip Flint and Hariniji created special Kumud Gupta 817-571-6945 Mount Kailash Pandaal structure for Mahashivratri. True to our traditions back home, Holika Dahan and Holi Celebrations were conducted in a Joint Treasurer grand manner. It was wonderful to realize that the majority of participants Mukund Patel 214-357-2844 were our youth. It was thrilling to see them dancing and playing with colors. The month of March ended with celebration of Chaitri Navratri, Secretary Ugadi, Gudi Padva, Durga Jagran, Durga Ashtami Havan, Akhand Swati Pandit 817-267-0264 Ramayan, and Sita - Rama Kalyanam. The month of April began with Ram Navami celebrations, Thyagaraja Aradhana followed by Tamil New Year, Ashottarashata Hanuman Chalisa Parayan, Vallabhacharya Pragatya Committee Members Mahotsav and Akshaya Tritiya. Volume 5 (Issue 1) pgs. 6-13 Published December 27, 2020 Staff Article Chances are the optometrist only checks that two of your eyes are functioning. But what about your third eye; who checks on that? A neurologist? Spiritual Healer? Yoga Instructor? Yourself? The answer might vary, given that this third eye is believed to reside within the pineal gland inside of the brain. The name “third eye” comes from the pineal gland’s primary function of ‘letting in light and darkness’, just as our two eyes do. This gland is the melatonin-secreting neuroendocrine organ containing light-sensitive cells that control the circadian rhythm (1). The diagram shows that nerve cells in the retinas of our eyes allow for light to be sensed. When there is light, the nerve cells in the retina then signal to the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) in the hypothalamus.

    How the British divided Punjab into Hindu and Sikh By Sanjeev Nayyar December 2016 This is chapter 2 from the E book on Khalistan Movement published by www.swarajyamag.com During a 2012 visit to Naina Devi Temple in Himachal Pradesh, about an hour's drive from Anandpur Sahib, I wondered why so many Sikhs come to the temple for darshan. The answer lies in the events of 1699. In the Chandi Charitra, the tenth Guru says that in the past god had deputed Goddess Durga to destroy evil doers. That duty was now assigned to him hence he wanted her blessings. So he invited Pandit Kesho from Kashi to conduct the ceremony at the hill of Naina Devi. The ceremony started on Durga Ashtami day, in the autumn of October 1698, and lasted for six months. At the end of this period, the sacred spring Navratras began on 21 March 1699. Then, “When all the ghee and incense had been burnt and the goddess had yet not appeared, the Guru came forward with a naked sword and, flashing it before the assembly declared: ‘This is the goddess of power!” This took place on 28 March 1699, the Durga Ashtami day. The congregation was then asked to move to Anandpur, where on New Year Day of 1st Baisakh, 1699, the Guru would create a new nation.” 3 On 30 March 1699, at Anandpur, Govind Singhji gave a stirring speech to the assembly about the need to protect their spiritual and temporal rights. He then asked if anyone would offer his head in the services of God, Truth and Religion.
