Council Campsites & Facilities open/closed

as at the 6th of April 2020

(As with COVOD-19 situation in Australia is constantly changing, please check with the individual council websites and facebook pages for updated information in the links below)

Port Lincoln

• Public Dump point and free access to town water is still available. • Caravan Travellers that are stuck in SA are still welcome at both Caravan Park and Port Lincoln Tourist Park. • Backpackers and travellers with or without caravans still have access to camp at Whalers Way, permits must be pre purchased prior to arrival at the property which can be done via Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre web page or by calling the centre. • Still options to accommodate.

Lower

The following Council managed facilities have been temporarily closed until further notice:

• All Playgrounds owned and maintained by Council; • Cummins & Skateparks; • All public BBQs owned and maintained by Council; • Farm Beach campground; • Louth Bay campground

As these facilities cannot physically be isolated, closure signage has been arranged for the above sites, however the public conveniences attached to the camp grounds will remain open to the general public.

Wudinna

• All campsites in Gawler Ranges National Park are temporarily closed • Splash pad and Bouncy Pillow are now closed at Apex Park

1 Kimba

• Free camping areas are strictly limited to 1 night stays only. • The pavilion toilets and shower are closed along with the lower section of the free camping area. • All playgrounds are closed. • The caravan park/motel on the highway is still closed, but the roadhouse attached is open.

Franklin Harbour

• All Council managed campgrounds still open • All public toilets remain open and the cleaning of these facilities has increased. Showers at Port Gibbon and Lucky Bay have been closed until further notice.

Ceduna

• All Caravan Parks are still open but practicing social distances measures. • VIC now closed until further notice • Public toilets are available on O’Loughlin Tce, Ceduna

Tumby Bay

Camping is prohibited at all campgrounds in the District Council of Tumby Bay area from Monday 6 April 2020 indefinitely.

CLOSED

Elliston

• Walker's Rock and Sheringa Camp grounds and public toilets are the sites are closed from 5.00pm Friday 27 March 2020 until further notice. • RV self contained vehicles can still stop at the RV site at the Elliston Golf Club in Elliston at this stage. • The caravan parks in the District have received numerous cancellations but a few visitors are still arriving, however the Park owners have introduced restrictions about who can stay. • Still options to accommodate who require it.

2 Streaky Bay

• Discovery Foreshore Tourist Park – Open to travellers with stat decs • Poochera Caravan Park – Open • Wirrulla Camp Ground – Open for overnight stays • Little Islands Caravan park – Closed until further notice

Cleve

• Turnbull Park Playground & Jumping Pillow in Arno Bay • All playgrounds in the district – Arno Bay Community Sporting Complex, Darke Peak Sporting Complex and Rudall Community Sporting Complex • All campgrounds & associated toilets - Yeldulknie Weir & Carappee Hill

DISTRICT COUNCIL OF CLEVE  Arno Bay Hotel RV Park & Hotel Accommodation – CLOSED  Arno Bay Caravan Park – UNSURE (have not yet heard back but would assume it is open).  Carappee Hill campground & facilities – CLOSED  Yeldulknie Weir campground & facilities – CLOSED  Cleve RV Park – OPEN  Cleve Caravan Park – CLOSED  Redbanks, Arno Bay – not meant to camp there but people do and they will be spoken to. We did have reports of people there last week but they have moved on.  Cleve Accommodation Units – OPEN  Cleve Boutique Accommodation – OPEN  Cleve Hotel Motel Accommodation – OPEN  BBQ’s in parks remain open for the time being.

For those that are open, we have created a screening sheet for them to use for new bookings to ensure safety.
