OTT Parsivel2 Laser-optical for measuring particle size and velocity of all types

The OTT Parsivel2 is a modern present weather sensor for comprehensive measurement of all precipitation types. The Parsivel2 captures both the size and speed of falling particles, classifying them into one of 32 separate size and velocity classes.

Measurement intervals on the Parsivel2 can be set anywhere from every 10 seconds to an hour. Once received, a fast signal processor calculates measurement data to determine precipitation type, amount, intensity, visibility, kinetic energy, and the equivalent radar reflectivity. Using standard interfaces, both the calculated and spectral data can be output to a datalogger, automatic , or PC.
