Sailors Cycle for Children's Wish Foundation By Natalie Boomer Every year members of the Canadian Navy Frigate HMCS cycle across New Brunswick to help raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. The Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes to children between the ages of three and seventeen years who have been diagnosed with neurological disorders and life-threatening illnesses. The first wish was granted in 1985 and Children’s Wish has now successfully granted more than 25,000 children their wish over the years. They are Canada’s largest wish-granting charity and have impacted more than 1,000 chil- dren lives each and every year. They rely on donations and the generosity of businesses, individuals, groups, and fundraisers. Over 900 wishes have been granted in just New Brunswick alone and 82 more are in progress. Because the average cost of a wish is around $10,000, the need is very great. Nine cyclists will be traveling on different routes on August 8th to the 16th. On the 10th the sailors will ride into St. Nice set shot by Stephen at 9 a.m. and be at the Chocolate Park and Waterfront at 10 a.m. and will host various activities for families. Trinity Jones. On Sunday they will be cycling to other multiple locations throughout St. Stephen, hosting fundraisers and more activities. The Sailors were able to raise over $61,000 last year and hope to make even more this year. www.wqdy.fm

(Photo: Nick Hawkins) Outdoor Photography Princeton High School Reunion Class Offered in Grand Lake Stream By Natalie Boomer Downeast Lakes Land Trust is hosting an outdoor photography class on August 13th. The class will be lead by Adam Woodworth of Adam Woodworth Photography. Woodworth will guide par- ticipants through Grand Lake Stream and give photography tips and tricks along the way. This hands-on workshop will not only teach you how to snap a few great photos, but it will also have demonstrations and presentations of Woodworth’s previous work. Originally from Kittery, Maine, Woodworth is an award-winning filmmaker, a landscape photographer, a software engineer, a fine art printer, and has over 15 years of experience in the photog- raphy business. Although his love for photography began years and years ago, he began his work with landscapes in 2008. His work has led him all across New England. A lot of his photos are taken around the white mountains of New Hampshire and the sea coasts of Maine. Woodworth even offers photography editing tutorials on his website and in-person workshops throughout the rest of the year. The class will begin at 5 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. Participants are required to bring their own camera. Woodworth usually works with a Nikon camera, but any digital camera will Alumni from Princeton High School met at the Princeton Road and Gun Club on Saturday, August 3, do.
