MOU for Essex County College Dual Enrollment / Psychology 101 & Sociology 101 - (Mr. English) BE IT RESOLVED: The East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Essex County to begin dual enrollment program/class with Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts and Essex County College. Students who complete this program/course will receive credits for Psychology 101 & Sociology 101. The credits will be transferable to all New Jersey Colleges. The cost will include a minimum per course cost, books fees and adjunct cost for 2 courses for the 2021-2022 school year. A total cost to the district not to exceed $10,455.60. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Ms. Precious Osagie-Erese, Guest Speaker at STEM 8th Grade Graduation - (Dr. Stallings) BE IT RESOLVED: The East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the attendance of Precious Osagie-Erese, former East Orange Campus High School Alum to speak at the STEM 8th grade Graduation on Friday, June 18, 2021 with a cost to the District of $200.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Mr. Lawrence Hamm, Guest Speaker at STEM Academy High School Graduation - (Dr. Stallings) BE IT RESOLVED: The East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the attendance of Lawrence Hamm, Community Leader, to speak at the STEM 8th grade Graduation on Friday, June 18, 2021 with a cost to the District of $500.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. Partnership with Nyame Bekyere Education Center Limited/Ghana - (Dr. Burton) BE IT RESOLVED: The East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the partnership between Benjamin Banneker Academy and the Nyame Bekyere Education Centre Limited, Republic of Ghana for the 2021-2022 school year at no cost to the district. 5 XII. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS JUNE 24, 2021 A. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS 1. EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT & STUDENT SERVICES e. Girls Who Code Club - (Dr. Burton) BE IT RESOLVED: the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the partnership with Girls Who Code to host a club and hire a facilitator to run the club at Benjamin Banneker Academy from September 2021 through June 2022 at a cost to the district not to exceed $700. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant.
