Golf Lessons and Clinics at Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Now-September 27: Women's Free Golf Clinics Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Course is offering free golf clinics for women every Thursday through September 27. Our FREE Ladies Clinics are for Beginner players who want to have fun learning the fundamentals including grip, stance, alignment and the full swing and developing skills for pitching, chipping and putting on a grass putting green. More advanced players will learn tips and drills that will help improve their game and score. Participants will learn to hit longer and straighter, and tips for those Three Ponds specialty shots. Don't forget to round up the crew and stick around for a few laughs at the Nickle Plate Bar & Grill (hosting live music the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 6-9 p.m.). June 19-31: Lessons for Children- Tuesdays at 2 p.m. for ages 10-13 and 6 p.m. for ages 14-16. June 14: Quilt Exhibit in Commemoration of the Centennial of World War I 10:00 AM Lycoming County Historical Society Taber Museum will host a group of quilters, most of whom are associated with the Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild, at its monthly Coffee Hour. The lectures are free and open to the public. To honor the centennial of the conflict of World War I, many of the quilters produced one, if not more, quilts honoring the service of their relatives. Many of the quilts feature red poppies, symbolizing the poem and song “In Flanders Field”. The quilters also utilized khaki fabric, first used during World War I. www.TaberMuseum.org Williamsport

June 16: Beein' at the Dale-Engle-Walker House Noted apiarists Dave Hackenberg, Preston Boop, and Mary Ann Frazier will share their knowledge about beekeeping beginning at 1 p.m. at the Union County Historical Society's Dale-Engle-Walker House. Bees are an integral part of agriculture and gardening – come and learn about these fascinating insects. Honey products will be on sale during the day. Tours of the Dale-Engle-Walker House will be available during the day. The c. 1793 limestone farmhouse boasts early architectural features, and original hearth with period kitchen equipment. June 16: Wonderful, Beneficial Wildflowers On Saturday at 2 pm, accomplished gardener and wildflower expert Julianna Cooper will present a free workshop-- "Wonderful, Beneficial Wildflowers"--at the East Buffalo Township Building, 589 Fairground Road. Hardy wildflowers bring breath-taking beauty to gardens and support the native pollinators that are essential to the survival of wildlife and humans. Ms. Cooper will share her knowledge of these colorful native plants that have grown in our region for centuries and will discuss how to best incorporate them into the garden. The Merrill Linn Conservancy is sponsoring this event as part of its Go Native! plant garden project, which shares knowledge about native gardening and its environmental benefits.
