Wednesday’s game will begin a stretch of eight games in 11 days to close out the 2019 regular Sat Mar 23 vs Michigan (Lubbock, Tx) L, 16-6 season before the start of the ASUN Tournament, which will be played at Melching Field May 22-25. Sun Mar 24 at Texas Tech W, 7-5 (10) The game on Wednesday also marks the final appearance in DeLand in the long career of FSU coach Mike Martin, who has Mon Mar 25 at Texas Tech L, 5-4 an 11-4 record in games against the Hatters in Volusia County. Tue Apr 2 UCF L, 13-4 It was a busy Saturday for the Hatters, who completed Friday’s 2-1 series-opening win against FGCU, and then took a 5-3 Fri Apr 5 NJIT* W, 4-3 victory in the second game of the series. The series finale was rained out, giving the Hatters a sweep of FGCU for the second Sun Apr 7 NJIT* W, 1-0 straight year and for just the third time in the 12-year history of the series. Stetson has won six consecutive games from Sun Apr 7 NJIT* L, 3-1 the Eagles and nine of the last 10 to close the all-time series to within 20-18 in favor of FGCU. The duo of freshman Daniel Paret and senior Vlad Nunez combined to hold the Eagles to one earned run in the second game of the series. Sun Apr 14 at Liberty* L, 15-4 Offensively, sophomore Jake Murphy was the star of the weekend. In just his second career start in the series opener, he Thur Apr 18 Kennesaw State* W, 5-3 had a double and a triple and drove in a run. He had a hit and a walk and scored a run in the second game. Freshman Mark Fri Apr 19 Kennesaw State* W, 4-0 Townsend had the big hit in that game, a three-run triple in the third inning. Sat Apr 20 Kennesaw State* L, 2-1 Stetson has now won four of its six ASUN series so far this year and has won 14 of its last 17 league series overall. Tue Apr 23 at Florida State L, 9-8 Stetson is now 8-8 in one-run games and 3-3 in two-run games this year. One of those one-run losses came in the first Wed Apr 24 at Florida State L, 10-4 game against FSU. During the 2018 season the Hatters were 12-2 in one-run games and 8-2 in two run games. Fri Apr 26 at Lipscomb* L, 9-8 Because of Sunday rain out, sophomore Robbie Peto will get the start against FSU, but will be on a pitch limit. Peto is 0-2 Sat Apr 27 at Lipscomb* L, 5-3 with a 1.98 ERA over his last two starts despite having allowed just three earned runs in 13.2 innings of work. Peto has Sun Apr 28 at Lipscomb* L, 3-2 been the Hatters hard-luck starter this year. New Director [email protected] Nearly 500 University students were evacuated from their homes after a fire at 109 Tower, a 15-story building that functions as off-campus housing for students. The fire started on the 10th floor of the kitchen on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at around 1 a.m., according to NBC 6 News. The tower’s sprinkler system put the fire out quickly, but caused damage to the lower floors. There was damage caused by flooding because of a “robust sprinkler system,” according to Elizabeth Bejar, vice president for Academic Affairs at a faculty senate meeting Tuesday. “Around 1 a.m., I noticed that there were a lot of fire trucks and ambulances outside the building,” said Chloe Antoine, a junior majoring in liberal studies and a 109 Tower resident.
