Call for Papers Special Collection on Teaching Hydraulic Engineering and Design

Submit Manuscripts: https://ascelibrary.org/journal/jhend8

Aims and Scope Hydraulic engineering continues to be an essential subject for engineering students and professional engineers for creating and sustaining key components of the global infrastructure. Effective techniques for teaching hydraulic engineering, in academic programs and in the workplace, help to prepare the next generation for success in solving current and future water challenges.

This Special Collection will focus on innovative teaching pedagogy, learning activities, case studies, etc. that help students improve their understanding of hydraulic engineering fundamentals and project application. In addition to submissions from academic programs, contributions on effective, novel hydraulic engineering training activities in the private sector for young professionals are also strongly encouraged. Where possible, data supporting recommendations should be included (e.g., observed trends, survey results and comments, etc.). However, the intended audience is primarily teachers of professional hydraulic engineering rather than engineering education researchers. Results from a similar campaign were published in a Dec. 2001 Journal of Hydraulic Engineering Special Issue: Teaching Hydraulic Design [Vol 127(12)] https://doi.org/10.1061/(ASCE)0733-9429(2001)127:12(983). Submission Information • Authors should prepare their manuscripts according to guidelines in Author Guide, (https://ascelibrary.org/doi/book/10.1061/9780784479018) • In submitting their manuscript electronically, the authors should access the journal at the Manuscript Tracking System https://ascelibrary.org/journal/jhend8 When submitting, the authors should indicate submission questions that the paper is being submitted in response to this call for papers (Special Collection: Teaching Hydraulic Engineering and Design). Paper submissions are due March 31, 2019.
