The series win over the Waves was the first for the Bulldogs in Malibu since the 2002 season and only the second series win at Pepperdine since Gonzaga joined the WCC in 1996. Gonzaga has now won four of the last six against Pepperdine and should both teams win their respective divisions it would give Gonzaga home field advantage in the West Coast Conference playoffs. After dropping a tough 6-4 decision on Friday afternoon, Gonzaga responded with a pair of convincing wins on Saturday and Sunday. Marshall Bratton led the offen- sive charge on Saturday with 4 RBI while Aaron McGuinness and Matt Reding each drove home three runs on Sunday. Ed Clelland and Patrick Donovan had their second straight strong starts on the mound. Bulldogs outfielder Jeff Culpepper also had a memorable weekend as he collected his tenth double of the season to move into a tie for 10th on the Bulldogs career list.
