The foursome are John Isner, Steve Johnson, Jack Sock and Sam Querrey. This is the first time since 2003 that four Americans have reached the quarter-finals here. That year, the American foursome were Andre Agassi, James Blake, Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick. Overall seven of the top eight seeds are remaining, led by top seed Isner, No. 2 Gael Monfils and No. 4 Benoit Paire. Isner (2007, 2013, 2015) and Monfils (2011) are former Citi Open finalists. In the opening match on Stadium Court, No. 13 seed Ivo Karlovic brings a 3-1 head-to-head advantage against No. 6 Sock, who is one of four players (Isner, Johnson, Zverev) from last year back in the quarter-finals. The 37-year-old Karlovic is appearing in his fourth Citi Open quarter-final, the first since 2009. His best result is the semi-finals in 2007. Sock, a two-time runner-up this season in Auckland and Houston, is trying to reach his third ATP World Tour semi-final in 2016. In the next match on, the top two Americans, Isner and Johnson, square off for the sixth time, the third in Washington. In their two previous Citi Open matches, a third set tie-break decided the outcome. Overall, Isner has a 4-1 head-to-head record against Johnson. Isner is appearing in his seventh quarter-final in nine visits (5-1 in QF matches). Johnson, who earned his first career ATP World Tour title in Nottingham last month (d. Cuevas), is appearing in his third straight Citi Open quarter-final. Last year he lost to Isner in the semi-finals. Since a 6-14 start, Johnson has compiled a 13-3 match record in his last five tournaments. In the evening session, Querrey and Monfils meet for the second time. In their only previous meeting in May 2007 in Poertschach, Austria, the Frenchman prevailed 64 75 in the 1R. Querrey is making his first quarter-final showing in D.C. since 2012 when he reached the semi-finals (l. to eventual champion Dolgopolov). This is Querrey’s first tournament since reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon where he beat No. 1 Djokovic in the 3R before falling to Raonic in four sets. Monfils, who reached the final here five years ago in his last Citi Open appearance (l. to Stepanek), is 2-3 in quarter-final matches this season. In the final match on, #NextGen star Alexander Zverev, the No. 7 seed, and No. 4 Benoit Paire meet for the first time in a main draw tournament. Two years ago, Paire won 61 63 in a 1R qualifying match at ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati. The 19-year-old German wild card is the youngest player remaining and he is making his second straight quarter-final showing in D.C. He is 4-1 in QF matches this season. Paire is trying to even his match record on the season (19-20) and remain perfect in quarter-final matches (4-0). Western & Southern Open Defending Champions Headline Doubles Fields CINCINNATI (Aug. 11, 2020) – Both the women’s and men’s defending champions are among the initial entries to play doubles at the 2020 Western & Southern Open, which will be held Aug. 20-28 at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center in New York. The 2019 WTA doubles winners – Lucie Hradecka and Andreja Klepac – are joined by the ATP Tour champions – Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek – to headline the early entries. Other notable entries on the women’s side include the teenage pairing of Cincinnati’s 18-year-old Caty McNally and 16-year-old Coco Gauff. Dubbed “McCoco,” the duo won a pair of WTA titles in 2019 – at Washington, D.C. and Luxembourg – and reached the US Open Round of 16. Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka, who finished 2019 atop the WTA Porsche Race to Shenzen as the season’s No. 1 team, are also in the field. Reigning Australian Open singles champion Sofia Kenin, a 21-year- old American, has entered with former Western & Southern Open singles and doubles winner Victoria Azarenka. The top two teams in the ATP Tour doubles race are entered in the men’s draw. The No. 1 team of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah is returning after reaching two straight Western & Southern Open finals. They are joined in the field by the No. 2 team of Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo. The ATP Tour No. 1 ranked singles player, Novak Djokovic, has entered the doubles draw with countryman Filip Krajinovic. An additional five women’s teams and six men’s duos will join the fields through on-site entries, while the tournament will award three wild cards into each draw to complete the 32-team fields.

Teen Sensation and 2009 US Open Quarterfinalist Melanie Oudin teams up with an All-Star cast for the second edition of Champions for Charity. The event will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2009 (3PM) at Hartman Arena located at 8151 N. Hartman Arena Dr., Park City, KS. Oudin will be joined by the world’s #1 ranked Doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan along with 6’9’ John Isner, and former Olympic Silver Medalist Mardy Fish, both ranked in the top 50 of the world singles rankings. The Event will be hosted by Wayne Bryan, father of the Bryan Brothers. In its inaugural year in 2006, Champions for Charity featured Andy Roddick and was played at the Rock Road location of Genesis Health Clubs. The Event was sold-out (nearly 2,000 spectators) and helped raise over $20,000 for the Daniel M. Carney Rehabilitation Engineering Center Wheelchair Seating Program for Children at the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation (CPRF) and the newly created Genesis Foundation for Fitness & Tennis (GFFT). Now with the opening of the new state-of-the-art Hartman Arena, the event is able to return with the intention to become an annual fundraising exhibition. Founded in 2006, the purpose of GFFT, a 501(c)(3) organization is to provide funds to allow all citizens, regardless of background and means, the opportunity to participate in recreational and/or competitive fitness activities.
