THEATRE CALGARY’S PRODUCTION OF ANNE OF GREEN GABLES THE MUSICAL Book by Donald Harron, Music by Norman Campbell Lyrics by Donald Harron, Norman Campbell, Elaine Campbell and Mavor Moore Director: Dennis Garnhum Musical Director: Elizabeth Baird Choreographer: Lisa Stevens PRODUCTION DATES Rehearsals start Monday, March 25, 2013 1st Preview Tuesday, April 23, 2013 Opening Friday, April 26, 2013 Closing Sunday, May 26, 2013 Option week Monday, May 27 to Sunday, June 2, 2013 CHARACTER BREAKDOWN Anne Shirley – young red‐headed orphan taken in by Marilla and Matthew Marilla Cuthbert – Matthew’s spinster sister Matthew Cuthbert – Marilla’s bachelor brother Diana Barry – a classmate who becomes Anne's best friend Gilbert Blythe – a classmate who becomes Anne's beau Josie Pye – a classmate who starts as Anne's worst enemy Mrs. Barry – Diana's strict mother Rachel Lynde – Marilla’s nosey neighbour Mrs. Pye – Josie's mother Miss Stacy – energetic new teacher Lucilla – from the store at Carmody Female ensemble – to play various ladies of town and Anne’s classmates Male ensemble – to play various men of town and Anne’s classmates AUDITION DATES (to be confirmed): Toronto: Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24, 2012 Calgary: Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14, 2012 Vancouver: Wednesday, August 15 and Thursday, August 16, 2012 *The auditions will consist of singing two contrasting songs to show off range (not supplied), a dance call (some characters are exempt from this), and scene work (sides supplied). SUBMISSIONS Please submit headshots and resumes for all three cities to Susan McNair Reid, Theatre Calgary, at [email protected] by Sunday, June 24. Please include the preferred audition city as well as role(s) for consideration in the body of the email and use “ANNE audition submission” in the subject line. Successful applicants will be contacted and provided with sides and further details. Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operate within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement. Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. .
