WITNESS APPEALS

Murder of Dennis KELLOND

Surrey Police are appealing for information relating to the murder of Dennis KELLOND on Road (A25), Godstone between the hours of 10.00am and 3.00pm on Saturday 25th April 2020. Mr. Kellond's body was discovered at a residential address in Bletchingley Road, Godstone just after 10.30am on Monday 27th April 2020. Since that time officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries in order to establish what happened.

We would particularly like to appeal to anyone who was in the A25/ Bletchingley Road area of Godstone between Ivy Mill Lane and Knights Way between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, 25 April and who may have seen something suspicious, to come forward as a matter of urgency. The road is a well-travelled route which is also used by walkers and cyclists, and we are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam or video footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Colin Pirie from the and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “We are determined to find those responsible for robbing a family of a loving and caring Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, who was callously murdered inside his own home".

“Mr. Kellond was very close to his son and two daughters, who are going through incredible emotional turmoil following the death of their Father. We know that someone out there knows what happened to Mr. Kellond and who killed him so we would like the public's help to find out who it was. If you do have any information about Mr. Kellond's murder we would urge you to do the right thing and contact us."

If you would prefer to speak to someone, please contact on 101 quoting Operation Zither. Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

COVID – 19 REPORTS

Officers dealt with 15 Covid-19 incidents over the past week by way of either issuing words of advice or Penalty Notices.

THIS WEEKS FRAUD ALERT

There have also been reports throughout the UK of coronavirus-themed 'phishing' emails. These attempt to trick people into opening malicious attachments which could lead to fraudsters stealing people’s personal information, email logins and passwords, and banking details. Some of the tactics being used in phishing emails include: Fraudsters purporting to be from a research group that mimics the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organisation (WHO). They claim to provide the victim with a list of active infections in their area, but to access this information the victim needs to either click on a link which redirects them to a credential-stealing page or make a donation of support in the form of a payment into a Bitcoin account. Fraudsters providing articles about the virus outbreak with a link to a fake company website where victims are encouraged to click to subscribe to a daily newsletter for further updates Fraudsters sending investment scheme and trading advice encouraging people to take advantage of the coronavirus downturn Fraudsters purporting to be from HMRC offering a tax refund and directing victims to a fake website to harvest their personal and financial details. The emails often display the HMRC logo making it look reasonably genuine and convincing The majority of scams we are seeing across the country relate to the online sale of protective items, and items that are in short supply across the country, due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We’re advising people not to panic and to think about the purchase they are making. When you’re online shopping it’s important to do your research and look at reviews of the site you are buying from
