SuperBy Laura Davis Bowl Sunday Always Steals A Pizza Your Heart With a couple of different BIG game days right around the corner, I thought my friends here on the Eastern Shore might be hungry for a couple of new appetizer recipes to try (and share!) in the upcoming weeks. In our younger years, we'd go to a party or the local watering hole to watch the big game - but these days we just tend to enjoy it at home. I always have fun making a small smorgasbord for my guys, switching things up year to year. I haven't met many munches that I didn't like - but these two are always requested year after year. Figured they were a good bet to share with you guys! First off, Buffalo Fried Oysters. A plump and tender single-fried oyster tossed in a sinfully spicy homemade buffalo sauce (don't let that scare you away - it's just hot sauce and melted butter, y'all). I like to serve them on a half-shell for a fancy presentation, then sprinkle with a touch of blue cheese - or feta, if you're not a fan. And second, a super delicious and easy Hot Pizza Dip. All the flavors of pizza, but in a dippable form. A baselayer of cream cheese and pizza sauce, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan - then add whatever pizza-ish toppings you like. I usually go with pepperoni, green pepper, red onion, and olives - but whatever floats your boat! No matter what team you're rooting for (go 49ers!), these two recipes will surely have everyone rooting for you! I hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy the game with their family and friends, and fill up yourbellies in the process. Laura Davis is a food writer/photographer based on Chincoteague Island.
