The applicant is absent. There is no representation. In

compliance of the order dated 11.05.2017, the Commissioner of

Kumbakonam Municipality is present. The Commissioner was

directed to appear today in view of the submission of the applicant

that inspite of the order of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras in

W.P.No.9929 of 2009 dated 10.02.2010 which settled the matter of

dumping the Municipal Solid Waste in the disputed area, the

Municipality is still dumping the Municipal Solid Waste in the same

area viz., Theperumanallur Ammachatram. The Commissioner

submits that the Muncipality is not dumping any Solid Waste in the said Ammachatram and the Municipality in fact is removing the Solid

Waste which was dumped there earlier. The Commissioner also stated that half of the solid waste dumped earlier had already been removed through bio mining process and the municipality has established a Bio Methanation Plant and Compost Plant at

Ammachatram in 10 acres of land.

Let the Status Report be filed within 10 days.
