Dear Wisconsin Coaches and Directors, By way of introduction my name is Mike Valley. I currently serve as the goaltending coach for the Dallas Stars (NHL) and am also the owner and operator of Elite Goalies ( www.elitegoalies.com ). During the summer months I privately train several NHL, NCAA, and Junior Goaltenders. Some notable clients include: Niklas Backstrom (Minnesota Wild), Marty Turco (Dallas Stars), Brian Elliott (Ottawa Senators), Al Montoya (Phoenix Coyotes), Jordan Pearce (Detroit Red Wings), Jack Campbell (US National Program).The purpose of this email is to introduce and invite your goalies to attend an Elite Goalies Camp this summer. The Elite Goalie Camps are built upon the foundation and philosophies that I believe in as a coach; Hard Work, Discipline, Respect, and Positive Attitudes! What makes us different is that we are committed to bringing the pro goaltending experience to all athletes that attend our camps. Our low student/instructor ratio creates a dynamic environment propelling our students to take their game to the next level. Each training day consists of 3 hours of on- ice training, off –ice, video, and educational classroom sessions. During our High Performance Camps goalies (as well as coaches and parents) will also take part in daily classroom sessions feature guest speakers covering topics such as sports psychology, sports nutrition, in-season training, and career preparation. The Elite Goalies Camps are designed to give each participant unprecedented access to the highest quality of goaltending instruction available. The Elite Goalies instructors are some of the best in the business. Aside from myself last year our staff list included several NCAA goaltenders as well as pro goalies Brian Elliott (Ottawa Senators) and Kyle Jones (San Jose Sharks). This year’s staff will be equally as impressive. Mike Lane and Larry Clemens also serve as head instructors. Elite Goalies will be hosting the following events: • Elite Goalies Prospects Camp Open to current Elite Major Midget, Junior, Major Junior or College goaltenders only. Madison WI, July 19 - 23 This intense 5 day training camp will motivate goalies to learn and sharpen the most modern, technical, tactical and mental skill sets that are needed to excel in the junior, major junior, college and the pro ranks. This program is designed to prepare goaltenders to be among the top prospects at the Junior A level to Pro. • Elite Goalies High Performance Camp Open to Elite Major Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, Prep School, and High School goaltenders Chicago Ill, June 21 - 24 Madison WI, July 8 - 11 Madison WI, July 15 - 18 This intense 4 day training camp will be structured similarly to the Elite Goalies Prospects Camp. Players at this age are at the most important developmental years of their lives and this camp zeros in on complete mastery of the skills required to be a standout goaltender. • Elite Goalies Regular/Advanced Camp Open to goalies 6-13 Madison WI, July 9th - 11th Goaltenders will participate in a 3 day camp that will be challenging and lots of fun. Goalies will learn and refine the most modern, technical and tactical skills sets that are needed to excel in today’s game. This camp is designed for younger goaltenders under the age of 12. *Options for all Camps: Athletes will be given an option for instructor/student ratio of 1 instructor to 2 goaltenders or 1 instructor to 3 goaltenders. Please remember that this is not your typical goalie school. Goalies are expected to come prepared to work physically, mentally and emotionally and with the mind set to make significant improvements in their game. The courting period has provided the Winnipeg Jets with the opportunity to express interest in several players they'd like to pursue come Saturday when the window to sign unrestricted free agents officially opens. Several players — including goalies Steve Mason and Brian Elliott and defenceman Karl Alzner, among others — have at least demonstrated some level of interest in joining the Jets. It's important to remember: for agents, the courting period is the time to drum up additional interest for the client. And a lot can happen between now and Saturday. Another team can swoop in with a bigger offer or provide an additional year or higher dollar amount to seal the deal. But the Jets go into this weekend with two distinct needs at the top of the wish list: an experienced starting goalie to share the net with Connor Hellebuyck and a defenceman who can play the left side, preferably a left-handed shooter. Historically, the Jets haven't been a team to swing for the fences or overpay to land a marquee name on July 1. Veteran centre Olli Jokinen was a place-holder and his signing in 2012 allowed Mark Scheifele to get some additional seasoning at the junior level before he was ready to be a full-time NHLer.

Valtteri Filppula scored the game-winner with 2 1/2 minutes left in the second period and Travis Sanheim netted his first career goal to help the Flyers win their fifth straight game, 2-1 over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night. Brian Elliott rebounded from a costly mistake early in the game to make 19 saves for the Flyers, whose winning streak has come on the heels of a 10-game losing streak. The winning stretch began with a three-game Canadian trip that started with coach Dave Hakstol changing the team’s formation to a more defensive-minded 1-2-2 alignment. Philadelphia (13-11-7) has outscored opponents 19-8 since. Buffalo opened the scoring 1 1/2 minutes into the game thanks to a miscue by Elliott. The Flyers goalie attempted to clear the puck from behind the net, but he passed right to Buffalo’s Zemgus Girgensons. The Buffalo center then passed in front to Ryan O’Reilly, who shot into an empty net for his eighth goal of the season. “A little miscommunication and a bad play on my part,” Elliott said. But the Flyers didn’t get rattled — something that maybe wouldn’t have happened two weeks ago. “You can take a punch better when you have a swagger to your game,” Hakstol said.

    Eli Wilson Bio Having elevated the games of current National Hockey League goaltenders Carey Price, Ray Emery, Tim Thomas, Tuukka Rask, Brian Elliott, Jason LaBarbera, and Devan Dubnyk, over the course of his coaching career Eli has worked with 25 NHL goaltending in camps, clinics, private or in a team environment. Eli Wilson has established himself as one of the premier goaltending coaches in the world. His relentless work ethic, vivacious personality, knowledge of the goaltending position and tenacious approach to the game has afforded Eli the ability to build an impressive track record. Wilson had unprecedented success for four seasons with the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers. While there, Wilson’s goaltenders set new franchise records only to break them again two years later. During Eli’s tenure, the Tigers won two Championships and in both of those runs, the Medicine Hat goalies were named playoff MVP’s. Eli's success as a goaltending coach is best demonstrated by the number of goaltenders he has developed that have gone on to win numerous prestigious awards including Stanley Cups, Conn Smythe Trophies, Venzina Trophies, World Junior Gold Medals, AHL Championships, AHL Playoff MVP's, WHL Goaltender of the Year, OHL Goaltender of the Year and CHL Goaltender of the Year.
