Dear Wisconsin Coaches and Directors, By way of introduction my name is Mike Valley. I currently serve as the goaltending coach for the Dallas Stars (NHL) and am also the owner and operator of Elite Goalies ( www.elitegoalies.com ). During the summer months I privately train several NHL, NCAA, and Junior Goaltenders. Some notable clients include: Niklas Backstrom (Minnesota Wild), Marty Turco (Dallas Stars), Brian Elliott (Ottawa Senators), Al Montoya (Phoenix Coyotes), Jordan Pearce (Detroit Red Wings), Jack Campbell (US National Program).The purpose of this email is to introduce and invite your goalies to attend an Elite Goalies Camp this summer. The Elite Goalie Camps are built upon the foundation and philosophies that I believe in as a coach; Hard Work, Discipline, Respect, and Positive Attitudes! What makes us different is that we are committed to bringing the pro goaltending experience to all athletes that attend our camps. Our low student/instructor ratio creates a dynamic environment propelling our students to take their game to the next level. Each training day consists of 3 hours of on- ice training, off –ice, video, and educational classroom sessions. During our High Performance Camps goalies (as well as coaches and parents) will also take part in daily classroom sessions feature guest speakers covering topics such as sports psychology, sports nutrition, in-season training, and career preparation. The Elite Goalies Camps are designed to give each participant unprecedented access to the highest quality of goaltending instruction available. The Elite Goalies instructors are some of the best in the business. Aside from myself last year our staff list included several NCAA goaltenders as well as pro goalies Brian Elliott (Ottawa Senators) and Kyle Jones (San Jose Sharks). This year’s staff will be equally as impressive. Mike Lane and Larry Clemens also serve as head instructors. Elite Goalies will be hosting the following events:
• Elite Goalies Prospects Camp Open to current Elite Major Midget, Junior, Major Junior or College goaltenders only.
Madison WI, July 19 - 23
This intense 5 day training camp will motivate goalies to learn and sharpen the most modern, technical, tactical and mental skill sets that are needed to excel in the junior, major junior, college and the pro ranks. This program is designed to prepare goaltenders to be among the top prospects at the Junior A level to Pro.
• Elite Goalies High Performance Camp Open to Elite Major Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, Prep School, and High School goaltenders
Chicago Ill, June 21 - 24 Madison WI, July 8 - 11 Madison WI, July 15 - 18
This intense 4 day training camp will be structured similarly to the Elite Goalies Prospects Camp. Players at this age are at the most important developmental years of their lives and this camp zeros in on complete mastery of the skills required to be a standout goaltender.
• Elite Goalies Regular/Advanced Camp Open to goalies 6-13
Madison WI, July 9th - 11th
Goaltenders will participate in a 3 day camp that will be challenging and lots of fun. Goalies will learn and refine the most modern, technical and tactical skills sets that are needed to excel in today’s game. This camp is designed for younger goaltenders under the age of 12.
*Options for all Camps: Athletes will be given an option for instructor/student ratio of 1 instructor to 2 goaltenders or 1 instructor to 3 goaltenders. Please remember that this is not your typical goalie school. Goalies are expected to come prepared to work physically, mentally and emotionally and with the mind set to make significant improvements in their game.
