Welcome to a new edition of the Stamp Bulletin, presenting upcoming Australian stamp issues and themed collectables. There’s been some excitement around the launch of the exclusive Australia Post version of the Monopoly board game. If the game is not available through a particular Post Office, orders can be placed at our online shop and via order.

In May, Australia’s rich national heritage is on show, through commemorative stamp designs that present three historic sites from the National Heritage List. The Harbour Bridge, a significant feat of engineering, is recognised around the world. The Queen Market, the largest open-air market in Australia, Create stamps welcomes visitors through its grand Victorian-era that are as individual entrance. Australia has 37 species of migratory shorebirds, vulnerable, the Bar-tailed Godwit breeds in Alaska, seven of which are at risk. The waters around the Cocos (Keeling)Islands are frequented by a range of marine life, including the Reef Manta Ray Mobula alfredi. Found in tropical and sub-tropical parts of the Indo-Pacific, this spectacular ray reaches up to five metres in width, has triangular pectoral fins, horn-shaped cephalic fins and a large, forward-facing mouth. The colour of the dorsal side is dark grey or black with white areas near the top of the head, and the ventral surface is generally white, with dark spots and blotches. Unique belly markings identify individual rays. The ray is generally seen in reefs close to shore but may venture out to depth to feed on zooplankton, the tiny, microscopic animals found in the water column. Norfolk Island has a high diversity of land snails relative to other similar- sized islands, and this stamp issue presents two endemic species. Greenwoodoconcha nux is found in mixed leaf forest at Rocky Point Reserve and Norfolk Island National Park, where it lives in leaf litter, under fallen palm leaves and under bark on logs. The Assimineid Duritropis albocarinata (also known as Omphalotropis albocarinata and Omphalotropsis brenchleyi) is found at Mount Bates, Mount Pitt, Rocky Point Reserve, Cemetery Bay and Duncombe Bay, where it grazes on logs, endemic plants and wet leaf litter within rainforests and woodlands.
