BOULEVARD CASINO PRESENTS LITTLE RIVER BAND

Little River Band was the first Australian band to successfully conquer foreign markets from an Australian base. Within eight months of their birth in 1975, they had already scored three Australian Top 20 singles and two Top Ten albums. Then in 1976, their self-titled album was released in the US and Canada and they began their first of many tours across North America. Headlining their own major shows and touring internationally with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Supertramp, America and the Eagles was a huge learning curve that honed Little River Band into one of the finest live bands.

Record success ran alongside … total record sales around the world eclipsed the twenty-five million mark with sixteen hit singles by 1985 as well as gold, platinum and multi-platinum album sales awards. Their hits include “It’s a Long Way There,” “Help Is On Its Way,” “Happy Anniversary,” “Help Is On Its Way,” “Reminiscing,” “Lady,” “Lonesome Loser” and “Cool Change.”

Today, Little River Band is as strong as ever … there is a new fusion of spontaneity, rock & roll and blues anchored by American bass player, Wayne Nelson who joined the band in 1980 and made his debut a year later as lead vocalist on the band’s hits, “Night Owls” and “Take It Easy On Me.” Guitarist and vocalist, Greg Hind has been an integral part of the band’s current sound since 2000. Before joining the group, Hind played and sang with many well-known artists including Thelma Houston, Kylie Minogue and Bachelor Girl … he shares vocal duty and is instrumental in looking for ways to keep the band’s arrangement fresh and current. Little River Band will be performing at the Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre in February, 2009.
