Calling all dog Lovers!

If you love animals and doing good deeds here’s just the opportunity you have been waiting for! Derek Wilmott’s buddy Pat is heading off to Iraq sometime in early July and needs to find a TEMPORARY home for his indoor pooches. “Ben” is a 7 ½ years old Golden Retriever, and “Sinbad” is a 6 ½ year old Weimaraner. Both are good tempered, and very well trained, and excellent around children and strangers! Ben & Sinbad are just all around good dogs! Pat is willing to split them up, if someone can’t take them both. Don’t forget, this is a temporary “loan”, and Pat will want his “boys” back at the end of his 12 month tour! If you are interested in helping out, you can contact Derek Wilmott in Cataloging for more information. In Touch Page 2 Vol. 33, No.10 — Spring 2007 Summer Movie Review the Third

Director: Chris Miller & Raman Hui ; Starring: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas; Runtime: 92 min, Rated: Rated PG for crude humor, suggestive content and swashbuckling action.

I finished the last review hoping the other Summer Threes, Shrek and Pirates, would sur- pass Spider-Man. My hopes have been crushed. As was not quite as good as the original, so is not quite as good as Shrek 2. And keep- ing with the theme of sequels, the main culprit hindering Shrek is a glut of characters and storylines. The main action has our friendly green ogre trekking to find a suitable heir to the throne of Far Far Away. The usual hijinks ensue. The first Shrek succeeded because behind all the silly jokes, there was real heart. It was a simple plot anyone in the audience could connect to: the outsider trying to fit in. Shrek the Third lacks that emotional core which makes us care for the characters. I personally have little experience in rounding up pubescent princes. The movie was a parade of cheap jokes and ill-thought out storylines. I laughed all of twice. So, sigh, another ten bucks gone. Of the three early summer blockbusters, I held highest hope for my favorite Scottish-accented Ogre. The movie was just ‘okay.’ And as a sequel to the Spider Man 3 review, this one gets one and a half paws. Wait until it comes to video.
