Following closely is No. 2/2 UCLA, which has now spent eight straight weeks within the top five of each poll. Three other Pac-12 softball teams remain ranked, as ARIZONA STATE is No. 6/5, ARIZONA is No. 10/9 and WASHINGTON weighs in at No. 11/11 ... Six games this week will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks, including two apiece from the UTAH vs. STANFORD series, the Oregon vs. CALIFORNIA series and the Washington vs. Arizona State series, all of which begin on Thursday ... UCLA reenters the Pac-12 fray after taking a week off, hosting OREGON STATE this upcoming week ... Schuld is the first Gatorade Arizona Softball Player of the Year to be chosen from Pinnacle High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Schuld as Arizona’s best high school softball player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year award announced in June, Schuld joins an elite alumni association of past state softball award-winners, including Catherine Osterman (2000-01, Cy Spring High School, Texas), Kelsey Stewart (2009-10, Arkansas City High School, Kan.), Carley Hoover (2012-13 D.W.
