Applause Records
Applause was a 1981-1983 independent that primarily served to issue albums by an older generation of pop singers, such as Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, the Letterman, Jack Jones and Robert Goulet, in whom the majors were no longer interested. They also reissued jazz material from Blue Note and Pacific Jazz, as well as a few vintage pop albums from Capitol. Applause also released Ennio Morricone's soundtrack from the 1982 Pia Zadora vehicle "Butterfly" and an album of music by scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
