It contains more than 384,000 articles from 19 publications including The Optical Society’s flagship magazine, as well as conference papers from around 800 meetings. x LEGACY. For over 100 years, OSA has provided quality research, inspired interactions, and dedicated significant resources to support the global optics and photonics community. x MOST ARTICLES AND CITATIONS. OSA is proud that its collection of flagship, partnered, and co-published peer-reviewed journals continue to receive the most citations (39%) and publish the largest number of articles (34%) in the field of optics and photonics. [Journal Citation Reports (Source Clarivate, 2020)] x HIGHEST QUALITY. Scientists regularly turn to OSA’s content to meet their research needs. Since 1917, OSA has been publishing seminal research in optics and photonics, including the findings of thought leaders, Nobel Prize winners, and in- ventors who have changed the technological landscape in our field. x GLOBAL REACH. Uniting 395,000 professionals from 179 countries, OSA brings together the global optics and photonics com- munity through its publishing program. Using OSA’s best-in-class publishing infrastructure, authors and readers from around the world can easily submit their manuscripts and discover our published content. 1 NEW PRODUCTS AND POLICY UPDATES NEW DIGITAL ARCHIVE OFFERING: AVAILABLE JANUARY 2021 In 2021, OSA is adding a new archive product—the OSA Digital Archive 3. It offers perpetual access to the PDFs of more than 54,000 journal articles and conference proceed- ings from 2016 to 2020 and supplements the OSA Digital Archive 1 and 2 products. See page 17–18 for details. EXPANDED ACCESS OPTIONS AVAILABLE OSA has significantly expanded the number of options available for your patrons to access your subscribed content. For example, OSA has implemented federated access, often referred to as “Shibboleth” or “OpenAthens” in partnership with eduGAIN. As federated access delivers content directly from OSA’s platform to your logged-in patron working off-campus, your patrons will not need be dependent on bandwidth provided by your university’s VPN to access your subscribed content. If you would like to provide federated access to your subscribed content, please contact us at [email protected], and we will work with you to establish it for your institution. EXTENDED BACKFILE PROGRAM CONTINUES—YEARS OF COMPLIMENTARY ACCESS CHANGING As a reminder, OSA’s single-title subscription pricing includes access to newly published articles in 2021 plus complimentary access to a portion of the backfile. Next year, complimentary access for all single title subscriptions will include content from 2011 to 2020 (instead of back to 2010 as with all 2020 subscriptions). For those interested in providing access to content prior to 2011, there are a few different options. Subscribers can either upgrade to one of our package products and receive complimentary access to the entire backfile for all titles in that package, lease the applicable backfile, or acquire one of OSA’s Digital Archive products. 2 JOURNAL CITATION METRICS OPTICS CATEGORY RANKINGS Rank by Rank Impact Total Impact by Total Journal Factor Citations Factor Citations ADVANCES IN OPTICS 14.690 2,806 2 47 & PHOTONICS OPTICA 9.778 9,728 5 24 PHOTONICS RESEARCH 6.099 3,455 10 42 J LIGHTWAVE 4.288 25,062 14 6 TECHNOLOGY BIOMEDICAL OPTICS 3.921 11,090 17 19 EXPRESS OPTICS LETTERS 3.714 70,740 18 3 OPTICS EXPRESS 3.669 119,017 19 1 J OPTICAL COMMUN 3.425 2,887 20 45 NETWORKING OPTICAL MATERIALS 3.064 7,235 24 31 EXPRESS J OPTICAL SOC OF 2.180 13,608 47 14 AMERICA B CHINESE OPTICS 2.045 2,619 51 49 LETTERS APPLIED OPTICS 1.961 49,100 53 4 J OPTICAL SOC OF 1.791 13,928 59 13 AMERICA A CURRENT OPTICS & 0.761 139 86 96 PHOTONICS J OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY 0.416 721 94 72 Additional metrics for OSA Publishing’s journals, including Eigenfactor and Google Scholar h5-index, can be found at osapublishing.org/journalmetrics.cfm.
